HAPPY DANCE Yard sale, flea market, thrift store and consignment brags!

I think there are some of out there that yardsale, flea market, thrift store, consignment shop for other bargains. I know I do. I live in the land of no malls or major retail stores except for Walmart and Kmart. So I love shopping for gently used.

Yesterday I was at our local consignment shop and picked up 5 pairs of jeans for DD 15yo, all name brand from Donna Karen to Tommy all priced $3 to $5 each. I also found for me a perfect condition Brighton handbag for $25 (retail on these is $200-$300) what a steal. I have picked up 3 or 4 brighton bags there all under $30. Is my little splurge for myself.

So what are your brags?

Default Re: Non couponing bargain shopping brags?

I was at the Carter's Outlet yesterday. Got a cute pair of overalls for the Pinenut for $5.03 inc tax, and the girl gave me a $10 gift card (they have a promo going for a $10 gc WYB $50-- she made a mistake). So I made money.

So it's not a consignment brag, but a non-grocery brag nonetheless.

My best find ever was a set of 6 teak Scan dining chairs. It's a store only located in the Balt/Wash area.

I paid $40 for 6 chairs. If you had to replace them and ordered one from the store they were over 200 dollars each!!!!! They've been our dining room chairs for 9 years. You'd never know we didn't buy them brand spankin new.

I just moved to MT and I'm loving all the thrift stores around here. There are at least 4 and I'm not totally familiar with the whole city yet so there may be more.

I've found 3 Tupperware Serve -n- store trays. They retail for $28.50 and I paid $2 each for 2 and $3 for the other one. I also found the Tupperware Salad Spinner for $3. That baby is over $35!

But the item I'm most excited about is a heavy wrought iron patio table and 4 chairs with an umbrella for $60. I've been looking in WalMart but they were only at half price and seemed flimsy. I'm so excited about this deal. Now if the weather would hold a little so we can use it some before winter.

Hubby is most excited about finding a George Foreman Lean Mean Grilling for $5.

Bought an awesome "bed in the bag" set for R's new bedroom set... retails normally for $120... but it was on sale (AND in the 60% off clearance area). Coupled with my 10% employee discount, I got the king size set for $34!

On Friday, I got two pots of silks, white poppies in a black pot at Pottery Barn for $4.99 each. They were originally $24.99 each, now 80% off.
I also found a framed art piece at Macy's for $5.39, originally $36.99.
I got a pair of INC Men's slacks for $14.99. orig $59.00.
At Marshalls it was $7 for another pair of Men's slacks, Perry Ellis.
I don't just bargain hunt for groceries!

I've found some really good buys. My most recent great buy was a pair of "pointy toe" black dressy/ casual mules for $4.19 at Kohl's. They were 90% off. I just love them!!!!

Here in Mpls, Tuesday is a discount day at many of the thrift stores. Goodwill has everything with a certain color tag is $1.29 on Tuesdays.

And sometimes they extend that to the books with that tag to be "10 books for $1.29"

I started going because I wanted wool and leather for some craft/sewing projects. I've been felting the wool for slippers and rugs, and using the leather for the soles of the slippers. I've had no problem washing the leather in my washing machine....no drycleaning bills for me!
