There's a great salvage store north of Atlanta that I try to get to every six weeks or so. Everything's brand new.

Just before Christmas I went there & got four Arrow dress shirts for my son for $2.99 each!

*sighs happily* I love our local thrift store. I've gotten great deals there before, and today was definitely no exception! It's been awhile since I went (I think my last time was before Thanksgiving), so I was actually expecting to be disappointing. BUT! I was able to get the following:

*53 pieces of newborn/infant girl clothing
*a pair of shorts for my husband
    *3 paperback books

And my total, with tax, was.... $9.44!!

I'm due in mid-March, and I don't even know if I'm having a boy or a girl! So being able to get essentially a wardrobe for the entire first year, for less than $10, is super fantastic. The pieces are all clean, with no stains that I saw... a lot of it is The Children's Place, Old Navy, etc. So, even if this one is a boy, we'll still be able to turn around and sell the clothing at a nice profit. :) :)

It was great to get out of the house by myself and do some thrift store digging!

The yard sales are finally picking up around here. I got DD an like-new Columbia coat for $10. It is the one with a zip in liner so it can be worn in really cold weather or without the liner for spring.

My best deal to date was '90's (I forget the year) Cutlass Supreme. It was my brothers car. A bus side swiped it.

I bought it off of him as is. State Farm fully insured the car by accident. I was involved in another accident a few years later. State Farm had to pay $1300 for the damage. I drove the car with the slight additional damage.

I drove the car until 2006 when the car cost more to repair than Kbb. A company paid $40 for its part sand towed the car off the repair shop lot for free.

    So I made 1300 + 40 = 1340 - 250 = 1090 and drove the car for 10 years.

The FBI wanted the car too. It had a 2.8 litre engine. The car was fast. I loved that car and cried when the car was towed away.

DH and I bought a pool table from Sears about 6 months ago. Retail for 899.00, took it home for 199.00! It's great with 4 boys, especially in the winter. Ahhh, making family room memories.....
In love with my wonderful husband!!
