Ok, so my goal was to get one room at a time organized and items I don't need cleaned out while I was off work, but yeah..... failure.
I'm still working on my office/craft room for 3 days now. I'm wanting to blame having to burn leaves (which really are too wet to burn, but anyways), but it's b/c I keep sitting my behind down at my computer
Ok I have about 5 hours to finish this room and I can do it!! *Cue war bugle*

I spent time yesterday putting expireds into a box, getting ready to mail out. Today, I started *again* on my office, and have found $23+ on random gift cards. $5 on a Kroger one that I thought I had already used! I should clean more often - LOL

shans3boys, that's an awesome find. I'm not finding those kind of things unfortunately, but I am finding a bunch of items that will soon be on ebay and those that can't are going to be donated to a great thrift shop that works with people to overcome addictions.

I cleaned out and organized my closet today. I made a pile to donate and a box of maternity/nursing tops that were in the back of my closet to send to my friend in Washington who is expecting in May. Tonight or tomorrow I am going to catalog the hba in our bathrooms.

I am feeling better about my office - had to get some of that clutter out so that I can start back on the right foot! It was great to have time off, but I will be glad to have some peace and quiet in the house when the boys go back to school tomorrow.

Anyone ever try the FlyLady method of cleaning? It was a bit too much for me, but she had some great ideas! I'm going to try and do more mini-cleanouts, and anything that has been in a closet for 6 months or more has got to go!

I tried flylady a couple years ago and felt the same way. Lots of good ideas, but a little overwhelming. I had to unsubscribe from her email list. Some days I would get 50 emails! I've thought about going and reading through the site again.
A couple of my favorite books, not necessarily about cleaning, but more about clutter and our emotional attachment to "stuff" are It's All Too Much by Peter Walsh and Clearing your Clutter with Feng Shui by Karen Kingston. I re-read Peter's book regularly, but I lack the follow through and motivation.

Well, we are having quite a day. I mailed off a box of maternity and nursing clothes today I found in a purge of my closet the other day, and I sold a box of baby clothes on Craigslist this morning!

And in just a few minutes I am meeting up with a buyer for a huge chunk of diapers that no longer fit Little Mister (also craigslist).

I took down his jumperoo last night and I'll be storing it in the closet for the next one. Just as soon as I wash the fabric seat part.

Tonight, I'll be going through my inbox and clipping coupons and filing. I am motivated!!

Well, I wish I could say I was productive this weekend, but I came down with a cold so not as much was done. I did go through my office & craft supply drawers and pulled out a basket full of items I will probably put on here to see if anyone else could use them. I also organized out my extra bedroom which doubles as my inventory room for all my online sales. I had boxes for mailing all over the floor along with a handful of packing materials. They are now nested in each other and I have one box dedicated to just the packing materials, which I folded neatly into it.

My other task I did was I packed away my Christmas and went through the items I didn't use and pulled out a few items that I know I have never used in the past.

I'm trying to figure out right now if I want to start saving items for another yardsale come March or April. I did really well last time making around $300 and, honestly, I think I could find enough things to make it worthwhile. It's just a matter of, do I want to have that extra bedroom that packed with things between now and then?

This weekend I got TONS of stuff done. Re-arranged the hall closet, put away the jumperoooooo, and put away some out of season clothes.

This week on my list: Inventory the pantry, freezer, and HBA stockpile.
