That sounds good. That is what I have seen them priced at as well as what I have sold them at.
I am selling books at my garage sale.
I will sell hardback and paperback books. What should I price them at? I was thinking a dollar for hardback and fifty cents for paperback.

Ive also priced mine like that too (which I think is fair because Ill purchase them at that price also) but I always had people wanting them for pennies so I just donate them to the library now.
Never sold mine for pennies.
I just had my garage sale, and I sold all the books. (I had a lot). Most people were willing to pay at least fifty cents for each book. I would never accept a nickel or dime for a book.
I turned away one customer, who offered me only three dollars for three large boxes of books. Half an hour later, another customer came along and gave me twenty dollars for all the books.
I think its good practice to turn down "lowballers" because they ruin garage sales for everyone. Eventually, people in the neighborhood quit having garage sales because of lowballers. I will gladly stuff everything back in my closets, before I give it away for nickels and dimes.
I list mine on half.com, and if they don't sell after a few months, I donate them to our Lions Club book sale.
