    HELP Selling on Ebay?

Ok I have listed 24 auctions on Ebay right now.. I sell video games, accessories ect.. Anyway I don't seem to be selling for that much.. They sell don't get me wrong but the views are very low.. I'm scared things won't sell that well.

I need advice tips tricks etc.. I don't know if I can post my username but what should I do.. Where else can I list this stuff..

To get a better idea of what I have I have like 7 Game Boy Advance, old school game boys game boy color, games accessories etc. Yeah it's old school stuff and has always done very well on Ebay in the past but now it's like no views and the sales are really down... What's going on?
    Surprise surprise..

Have you tried selling these on Craigslist? Did you research the price on CL and eBay for your items so you know they are priced right and to see if it's even something desirable? How does your shipping compare to your competitors? Make sure you list your items as close to 11pm as possible. Always list with the item's picture. Hope something works out for ya!

I used to sell on ebay and there is always a slow time. Right now I figure things are slow. People just sent their kids back to school and Christmas is 2 months off. If your prices are in line with what the items you have are selling for it might just be a lull. I know when I was selling I did the keywords in listings but they also gave a certain number of keywords free and you had to pay for the rest of them. I think it also matters whether or not it is a buy it now or an auction. When I go on ebay I am looking for what I want at a price I think is fair and don't have the time to wait for an auction. Maybe break them up into both categories and see which does better. I am sure things will pick up after Thanksgiving.

I'll try to help answer your question but if you could send me the link to your eBay store or one listing, I could answer more precisely. I'm a Power Seller on eBay but I turned my vacation settings on for 6 months and just reopened my listings to the public. I'm not getting many sales so I sent my newsletter subscribers a special deal. They began to make purchases. This pushed me to page 3 of the default (best match) search category verses page 10. Most people will not search through more than 3 pages of listings. Because my sales are increasing, my exposure on the first few pages of search results will increase. eBay rewards sellers who have the most sales, good feedback and either free shipping or reasonable shipping (as compared to others in your listing category). If you are listing auction style, you will get the most exposure 2 hours before your auction ends. I use fixed price and use some small tricks (like the special offer) to jump start my sales and push me closer to page one of the default search page for my category. Keywords are very important as well as using eBay's description links when posting an auction. For the video category, there are many predetermined options to add to your listing that increase exposure. If you sell many items that are under $10 each, you can change your PayPal account to accept Micro Payments. The commission for this is only .05 cents and 5% of the sell price verses .30 cents and 2.9% the standard way. My items are under $10 and this benefits me greatly. If you would send me a private message with your store or listing link, I'll be happy to look at it and see if I notice anything right off that could be changed. One last thing... pictures are very important. This is the area I struggle in the most. I don't have the software to create great looking pictures.

I forgot to mention this but you can also add more characters in your listing title now.

You also might want to check out ebay's sister site, Half.com. The sellers there specialize in books, games, etc. I love selling hubby's used books on there. I get more than if I were selling at a yard sale that is for sure. GOod luck!

What about trying a used game store for this type of stuff. They buy it up front at a reasonable price. Avoid the chains if you can though, the local owned shops pay more.

Well DF and I bought all the merchandise from a mom and pop chain that closed ($1000) for $10k worth of stuff

There are no other real mom and pop stores. I did a whole website for it but I haven't published it yet cause honestly It will cost me more going that route and will take more time. I wouldn't know how to get it out there and stuff.

    Thanks though

IME, older game system stuff doesn't always sell well. Certain games will (with known characters like Mario, Kirby, etc.) but many will not sell for very much.

I agree with trying craigslist--heck, it's free. Photos help in the listings.
