First it was nail polish. I don't wear much makeup but I've been wearing nail polish every day since I was about 12. I love it! I just wish I could find some that doesn't chip off a day or two later. Sometimes I will buy a bottle that has good staying power but I get tired of the shade or it is not quite right for me. So I will buy more of that brand only to have it chip right away. Is it just me or do certain colors just chip more? So I had a whole bunch of bottles that were the wrong color, old and separated or just not good. Plus the tons given to my daughter as a gift. Why do people think kids want cheap nail polish? Not only that but she rarely wears it. She has very good luck with that Sally Hansen stick on stuff. I had good luck twice and then after that I couldn't get it to work at all. So anyway... I placed an order online for some stuff that got good ratings by users. That came and I got rid of most of the old stuff, only keeping the bottles that I know I liked.
Today it was tea. I did buy 4 kinds of tea the other day using coupons. When we first moved into this house, I vowed to drink more hot tea instead of diet soda to save money. I have done that at times but last year was not so good for that. I don't think I drank any. Husband did drink some though. Oh the variety I had! I even bought a little unit with drawers in it so I could have a variety easily at hand. Well... When I went through it I found that most of what I had, had an exiration date between 2005 and 2007. Some in 2009. And yes, it did say exp. Some of it was herbal/medicinal. Like for an upset tummy or sore throat. The stuff I bought for my daughter, she refused to drink. So out it all went! And I vow not to buy any more tea until my stock goes down.
Not much but did get 2 paper bags full of magazines out to take to the library for their fundraiser.

I have a huge bag of clothes and winter coats and hats to donate. I got rid of an old booster seat that was in the basement. I also went through DD's room and have 2 laundry baskets full of stuff to sell to Once Upon a Child.

I took a box of books to "Half Price Books" and got $11 for them. Not a fortune, but it was almost exactly what I spent on one of my grocery stops...so I was happy!
Also, I got one of those calls from the Lupus Foundation, asking for donations of clothes, etc. We had a couple of big bags of clothes that we gathered from cleaning out closets (nothing that we could re-sell, really), so they picked them up.
Today is trash day...and I'm the only one home all day...so I'm sure I'll find more things to toss out before they get here! (It's my OCD side!)
Oh, I almost forgot- Over the weekend, on Saturday, there was a baby stuff swap with one of my mommy groups. I got rid of the moses basket and a bunch of clothes that no longer fit Little Man. I saved a bunch of Little Man's wintery clothes to take to the baby consignment shop this week.

We took a lot of clothes to the school clothing bank.
They had an appeal on TV asking for clothing for needy students. We certainly have plenty to share.
