Default cleaning up velcro for resale

Anyone have any tips on how to clean up velcro for resale? I have some boys shoes, decent brands, excellent condition--except all the crap stuck in teh velcro makes them look bad.

I've tried picking it out with my fingers and a fine toothed comb, I can't get all the junk out.

    Any tips?

use a sewing needle/pin to get in there and dig it up, then you should be able to pull the fuzzies out easier. it ends up being a lot of work, but the velcro will work like new again once you do.
