An acquaintance was out of food and money until next payday. She also has many dietary restrictions. I had her come over and we went through my stockpile together so she could find what worked best for her.

I gave her:
tofu, chicken breast, ex lean hamburger, many fruits and veggies, corn tortillas, and salsa verde. Oh, and some shampoo. She felt bad, but I tried to explain that my life is for helping others, and that I was very happy to help her.

I feel weird about writing this, but if I inspire others, then that would be good.

Why would you feel bad about writing this? I do the same thing, and I think it is wonderful that you were able to help her out with so much. I am also sure she was very grateful in the end for all the items as well.

BF is starting to GEEK about all the stuff I keep coming home with... To pacify him we took 5 bags of food to the local Fire Dept.

2 Glucose Meters
10 boxes of Nabisco Crackers (from the $10 Jingle rebate)
5 boxes of Keebler Crackers ($10 toy rebate)
18 cans of tuna (he thought I had too much)
3 jars of Kraft Mayo
3 jars of JIF Peanut Butter
4 boxes of Stove Top Stuffing
2 boxes of Cheerios

Hopefully that will take his mind off the Dining Room table, living room chair and couch that are full of Rite Aid and Walgreens bags...

*trying to get it organized and boxed up/inventoried for stockpiling*

Default Re: What did you donate this week?

I dropped off over 1500 trial sizes of Herbal Essence shampoos and conditioners,
100 Ricola bags of cough drops,
30 packs of trial baby wipes,
2 dozen promo pilot pen t-shirts with tags,
- - - too bad my school system was filling book bags for Haiti only.

Would have loved to drop off all the free monitors, triaminic strips, vitamins, comtrex, nyquil, dayquil, theraflu, etc etc etc. I guess I have to drop those off someplace else huh?
BTW, I have a lot of drugs stores nearby which is why I was able to get so many HE shampoo/ conditioners a while back for FREE!!!!
