Most pawn shops will give $1 per regular DVD, and we have always had great success selling them on half.com or at garage sales for more. Seems like a sore deal to me.
Hopefully this is the right forum to post this in, if not, sorry in advance!
I just learned about Amazon's Trade-In Program, which is GREAT for removing clutter.
I traded in like 10 DVDs that have been sitting on my shelf for awhile collecting dust. In return, Amazon is giving me anywhere from $0.25 to $1.05 in Amazon credit per DVD to trade in my items AND they are paying for shipping.
I know that it's not the best deal for everyone, but if you have DVDs sitting around and want to get rid of them without going through much hassle, then this is a great way!
Oh, and they also accept certain electronics and textbooks. I have never traded in either so I can't speak to them, but I'm pretty excited about getting rid of some clutter! yay!

I have done many trade-ins, they actually go to a third party and amazon deposits the money. Takes 1 week or less from when you ship them to get the money in your amazon gc balance. I only trade in certain dvds or video games though, because usually i can get more selling on ebay or in a yard sale. But it is an excellent program. I recommend it.
