I had a Yard Sale!

I remember when we lived in Base housing in CT I had a yard sale...I had a skirt in the yard sale and was asking a QUARTER....this woman came up and asked if I would take a DIME...I thought are you kidding me? I said no and she didn't buy the skirt!
I HAVE noticed that people of a certain nationality just want to bargain down, I guess that is how they do it in their country.

Its fine if they want to barter, but when they are being completely unreasonable, that's when I have a problem with them. I also have to wonder, if they think that skirt is only worth a dime, why would they want to wear it?

Garage sale customers like this ruin it for everyone else, because eventually many people just quit having garage sales. Instead, they donate their stuff to places like Goodwill, that will sell the items for more money.

Congrats on your great yard sale earnings!

We don't really do the yard sale thing any more, because of people always wanting something for free or literally a nickel. We do, however, put our kids things they outgrow in a local consignment sale or sell them via Craigslist. We found that the kids items sell better this way than in an actual yard sale. Yes, even Johnson Buddies Soaps and packages or partial packages of outgrown diapers! lol
