We had a couple of older TV's (not as big as Smee's) that we were wanting to get rid of. We donated them to a nursing home. Many residents do not have a TV (most times these people come from families who want nothing to do with them anymore). This gives them the chance to get TV in their room and have some entertainment.

Yeah, our trash collection allows us for one big item per month, and rules state that it can be as big as a fridge or mattress, so I think a tv would qualify. I also stick things at the end of my driveway, and they are gone within hours.

That is a wonderful idea! You are so right--my grandma is in a nursing home and so many don't have items like tv, radio, etc.
