Wow, I've been on there for 11 years as a "career seller" and have had this problem, but never without them contacting me first . Ok, just mho on what you should do that would cover you, and what your options are (and yes, I have had many run ins with paypal and ebay....face it, they are a buyer's market now, not the seller's, but you do still have some protections and rights).
    1) If you shipped the item with delivery confirmation in the first place you are covered as long as she did not send the item back with delivery or signature confirmation or certified mail, etc. Write "return to sender" on the package and send it back to her. Even if she files with paypal, you have proof that you sent the package to her and she received it, end of story. Ebay will cover you as well, since her beef is not that it wasn't as described, but that she didn't want it.
    2) If you don't feel comfortable going that route and regardless of whether she shipped the item back to you with delivery confirmation then email her (through the ebay message system, they won't even consider any emails not sent through their system) and tell her that your policy clearly said "no returns," that you are technically not obligated to do anything since she never contacted you, but as a courtesy you will refund what is left after the (actual) shipping to her, ebay and paypal fees are deducted, and that you will not refund her price to ship it back to you, as you are not responsible for her changing her mind. Word it nicely and do it when you are not upset about the situation. 9.99 times out of 10 when we explain it this way (although it is usually before someone sends it back) we get favorable results and no negatives or neutrals. Most people even leave positives. Believe it or not, sometimes we have relisted the item and sold it for more than it sold for the first time

Just know this....ebay is a huge marketplace. There are all kinds of people shopping on there from all over the world. Some have common sense and are courteous, some are flaky, and some are just the kind of people that would rather make everyone they come across miserable and always have to have it their way. You will never, never make everyone happy. I am super easy to get along with and have not found that magic formula in 11 years and 43,000 feedbacks (and yes, there were times I even literally cried about it in the beginning). Don't let it get to you, as long as you are doing the best you can that's all you can do. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

It's wrong to keep the item AND the money. Refund her purchase price, keep the shipping, relist the items.

Right, that's what I said I was doing. I wasn't going to keep both.

Glad to hear you refunded the money. The person could be mentally impaired.

I sold one of my husbands suits. I listed the wrong size by accident. The buyer, who works in a suit department, spoke to me on the phone. He said he loved the suit but it was the wrong size. I told him to return it for a refund.

He sent the suit 70 days after the auctions close balled up in a priority box. I called PP immediately and informed them. It was evident the suit was worn several times. That was the last I heard of the matter. The buyer was out $60
