HELP Selling Cat Food at a yard sale?

I have a large supply of cat food, which I use because I have cats.

But I was thinking I would sell some of my stockpile in a yard sale I will be having tomorrow. I am not sure how to price this.

I would like to sell the 9-lives or Meow Mix. I paid $1.00 or less for each of the smaller bags. In the stores, the prices are over $3.50 on sale and more when they are not.

Can you tell me how much you would suggest I should price these and have you ever seen anyone sell cat food at a yard sale? Also, if you don't think this is a good idea, please let me know that too. I am open for your opinion.

    Thanks so much!

I have sold cat and dog food at my yard sales before.

I do it at 1/2 of the retail price of the item. When I have the can food, I do give them a .xx price or 4/x.xx that is a little better (encourage bigger sales)

I usually sell out of it in the first hour. But if you have any left, you can donate it to your local shelter, they will give you a tax receipt for it.

    HTH and good luck.

I sell mine at half of retail too. Funny story, I had a woman ring my doorbell yesterday asking me if I had any cat food!

I have a handful of my regular yard sale folks that will ring my doorbell and ask if I have any of this or that right now because they didn't get enough at the last sale (or their mom wants some now...) I usually have it stored away and get them what they need and have a few unexpectred bucks.
