People work on different days and differrent hours so someone who could not make it on friday would hit yard sales on sat and vise versa or may have prior engagements on one of those days,Perhaps a friend or relative sees something you might like or want calls you and can not get ahold of you til after the garage sale shuts down that day,you could check the next day to see if they still have it.2 or 3 day sales are a good thing not bad,
Where I live, you have to buy a permit from the city to have a yard sale. It is good for three days. Most people have Friday/Saturday sales.
Where I grew up multi-day yard sales were the norm. There was a house in the neighborhood where the lady would clean out her attic or basement during the sale days and she would have different stuff everyday. Also if you're looking for something high priced it might be half priced later if it doesn't sell the first day. Some people do that rather than allow people to bargain--they're firm on the price the first day, come down a little on the second day and finally cut it way down to get rid of it on the last day.
3 Day sales are common in my community. I've been to them, but we've never had one. We usually just do a Saturday 8-1 sale or something like that. I usually go the first day and the last day because people are more willing to deal the last day to get rid of what they still have.

In a houseful of toddlers and pets, you can start out having a bad day, but you keep getting detoured.

It is normal around her too. I always go on any day, you never know what you will find. As for having them, always 2-3 days. For the amount of work it takes to get a sale together, I'm not about to go through all that for just one day. It's usually the last day that brings in most business.
I've had and been to lots of them. Wednesday evening, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are common days for a yard sale around here. When I have them, I always think Friday is a waste and "next time I'll skip Friday," but I never do.

There are many multi day yard sales here, and depending on when you can go, it works out for many different folks. I would go different days, but know that most of the good stuff if you are looking for antiques is gone the first day- sometimes before the start time.
Would I hold one- heck no! Doing one, once a year for 6 hours seems like a long time. I don't know how some folks can sit and sell stuff every weekend at the flea markets.
