Garage Sale Tomorrow!

Wish me luck. My garage sale is Saturday morning. A few odds and ends and a couple of large ticket items, but mostly stockpile. My husband has been nagging me to conduct one for some time now. It's a whole lot of work to cart all the boxes from the second floor down to the garage, so hopefully not nearly as much will have to go back upstairs. Must have been 25 copy paper boxes of stuff. It's been 2.5 years since the last sale.

I promised him whatever haircolor and feminine products do not sell, I'll take to a women's shelter.

My neighbors have absolutely no idea. Last sale I got just a few comments like "had we owned a store and just clearing out the stock." This time the percentage of stockpile to other stuff is way higher, so I expect even more speculation.

We cleared $370 after subtracting the newspaper ad cost. Larger ticket items only added up to $50 and all the rest was stockpile. Not as good as I had hoped to make space for storage, but still nothing to sneeze at. My husband was just glad to get rid of every single item we did, but there are still so many boxes we have to cart back upstairs, minus the haircolor and feminine products.

He is making a plea for me to at least take some of the proceeds and buy something special just for myself since I put in all the work day in and week out contributing to the family budget by couponing.
