Best version of Guitar Hero??

I need Guitar Hero (or similar game) for a Christmas present-what is the best version? I'll be buying for a PS2 (unless a Wii magically falls in my lap).

Guitar Hero 4 is about to come out! That will definitely for sure be the best version yet. However, it is a bit costly (if you get everything that comes with it-- the guitars, the drums, and the game) but if you already have guitars (I'm guessing you don't) you'll have to get those as well! I personally own all versions except the Aerosmith one. Love 'em all!
