I am not sure about the laws in Michigan - but I know that some states (such as Texas) prohibit this. You will need to check your laws.

I don't know what the state law is, but here's my question: WHY would anyone come on your property and take pics of your yard sale stuff? That's a bit over the top for anyone to do, but if she was indeed the store mgr? Just too weird for me. What did you do when she was doing this? I mean, taking pics at the park, or at the Zoo, okay. Taking pics at someone's yard sale? That's just too weird for me. I guess I'd check into your state's laws as well. Good luck and keep us posted.
That is pretty odd. I don't think I would ever do yard sale of things that i got for free or doing the deals. Either I will give the things to my family or donate them, I mean you can get tax write offs for the stuff and I would feel better about it. Not to mention how much work a yard sale is. I have no clue about reselling laws, but I have seen somewhere, either online or in the paper of cvs or walgreens that says their products cannot be bought and resold, maybe it varies by state. Good luck, i would be interested in seeing how the manager acts next time you go in.
reselling in texas is against the law????

I'm curious about that Texas law too .....
Anybody have a link or some more info??
I usually have 3 sales a year , mostly from my stockpiled stuff
i didn't have a ton of stuff i was selling but a table full. like dove shampoo which actully did cost me some. plus it wasn't all form cvs meijers, walgreens, and kmart to.
i didn't see the lady actully someone else came up and goes you know there is a lady taking pictures of eveything she said it loud when i looked the lady darted out all i seen was her back and the car she drove and the back of her looked the the cvs manager plus it was the same blue jeep she has.
i have donated alot of my stuff but i was actully selling to help my kids school raise money to help build a boy ( who is one of my sons good friends) a new house that he can get a round in in his wheel chair.
i have tried looking up michigan laws and haven't found anything yet. i did call the court house and the lady said she didn't see why i couldn;t
i will go to cvs next week i am scared :[ i will go at night when she won;t be there but the nice people will so if she said anything to them they will tell me nicely.
i didn't mean to do anything wrong i wish she would have said somethime to me instead of take picture and leave. i mean really.
thanks for all the help
Of course you can resell it!! Once you obtain something legally it is yours. You can do whatever you want with it.
Actually, I believe their products say not for resale. In fact, I have seen several packages at cvs with stickers that say "if found in any location other than CVS please contact CVS at 1-800 xxx-xxxx"
I thought the stickers were there, so you could not get the item for free at CVS, then return it to Wal-Mart or a different store to get money or GC.
I had a garage sale last month and sold a few items. They sold really fast, so obviously, I had them priced way too low!!![]()
