Newspapers do get paid to distribute the coupon inserts as well as the store advertisements. Some areas choose to mail RedPlum to the readers instead of place them in the Sunday paper. There's been many reports of RedPlum being pulled from newspapers by the manufacturers lately because the manufacturers found out that the newspapers were not meeting the distribution requirements. Newspapers do have the option to discountinue using a insert company as well though. If they decide for any reason that a given inserts is not working for their target audience they will pulls those ads. Hope this gives you some insight. Why would they do that? Don't they get paid by Red Plum to distribute it?
