I'm not sure if this is the place to ask but here goes.
Everyone talks about getting multiple inserts by dumpster diving. My question is, what dumpsters? Are their dumpsters that are just for the newspaper? The only dumpsters I see are for ALL garbage and I just can not bring myself to root through trash. Are their dumpsters where the papers are printed and they throw out the papers that do not get sold? How are people getting 50-100 copies of the inserts?

I buy mine.... but dumpster diving is in the recycling dumpsters with the dividers so YES, it is separate.....I still can't bring myself to do it.

Plus ours are tall. I am not trying that. Not even for Qs

Try the dumpsters by your local newspaper office....usually all papers and inserts no trash!

I need to find out where that is in my area. So the best day to do this is what? Sunday night, Monday?

I go to a store on Sunday nights and they let me take the inserts from their leftover papers. In exchange I remove them from the racks and tear off the headers so the store can get their credit. Its nice since I get inserts from about 10 different papers.
I also found that there are different values depending on what paper the coupon came from. 2 weeks ago I got coupons for Lysol kitchen cleaner, 1 was for .55/1, 1 was for 1.00/1, and another was 1.00/2.

I get coupons from my public library. They've had a coupon exchange there for years. I don't buy the paper, so it has helped me out greatly over the years. (Although I've helped them out also. I pay more in taxes towards the library then what a non-resident would pay for a library card.) Usually there are the whole inserts but there are also coupons that are already cut out. The inserts are easier and faster to look thru, and I have a small pair of scissors in my purse to cut them out. I just joined hotcouponworld but I've belonged to some other coupon groups and am surprised that more people don't mention their library as a source for coupons.

I've never seen a coupon exchange box in our library. I wish they had one, I have tons of coupons and would be happy to give up ones for the stuff I know I'm not going to use like baby items. I end up cutting them and leaving them on the shelf next to the product or sharing them with a couple of the cashiers I'm friendly with at the local market.

Maybe your library would let you start one. Ours is kept on the same shelves as the newspapers. Actually this got me remembering that a few years back our Cub Foods used to have a set-up inside their door for coupons as well. I rarely went thru it since you'd have to stand and there were quite a few to look thru. At the library it's peaceful and I can take the rubbermaid container to a table and sit to go thru them.

I love it when I find a coupon next to a product I'm going to buy but don't have a coupon for it. It's like finding money. That happened about a month ago with a Secret deodorant coupon. I hadn't found one at the library yet, but knew from the great online coupon sources that Secret had a $1 off coupon out there, so I was so excited when I seen one on the shelf. Thanks for people like you. :)
