That's not what I meant. I'm not a complete moron! No, I just meant would it be similar in that it was printed for my region and thus wouldn't have inserts in it.

If your Borders store is located in Montana - the answer is "NO", don't expect to find any inserts.

If there is a Borders bookstore somewhere in Seattle - then "YES", they should have inserts.

Keep in mind, the "street edition" of newspapers (non-home-delivered, ie sold in stores or on a street) is NEVER guaranteed to have inserts included.

One should always check a newspaper for completeness, prior to paying (unless merchant forbids doing that, in which case check out another store).

Actually they are referred to as a subscription. Papers can choose not to subscribe, and some of the "high brow" ones, for lack of a better word, do not subscribe to any ads. Some do not subscribe to Valassis or SmartSource or Parade or Weekend Today, or other "insert magazines", which is what they are called. The papers do not dictate the content, though, the coupons that are published in each print are a complicated marketing process.

Several coupon publications, like PG Brandsaver and some of the SmartSource ones, provide websites where you can enter a zip code and determine which papers in your area carry their publications. Not just local papers, but which papers distributed in your area will have their insert subscriptions.

Does anyone know if the Chicago SunTimes has inserts? I know that the Chicago Tribune does but not sure if the Sun Times does or not. Anyone else from Illinois?

I hope it's ok to ask, but is their a link to these sites? I tired to search for
smartSource and all I could find is where I can print coupons. I'd like to be able to search by zipcode to see which papers have more coupons.
Thanks!
Debbie
