Hehe - sorry, another off-topic post. Mods - maybe we should put this in the abbreviations or something?

So I don't understand how you say you have the date on that binding, but you don't have the cover page? How do you know you're missing the cover page?

So, I was trying with the numberpad keys on this laptop, which is keys M, JKL, UIO, 789, and I was trying all the suggested key combos of Alt+Fn+0155, Alt+Fn+155, Alt+Fn+0162. But still no cents symbol. Or forward caret symbol, for that matter.
I noticed, however, that every time I hit Alt+Fn+01 or Alt+Fn+1, my browser window would shift, and jump me to the top of the page. Same thing happened with just Alt+1. So, light bulb moment! I realized Alt+1 on this laptop is set to go to top of page or top of document. (And apparently Alt+2 takes me to bottom of page or end of document.) So, that is why the key combo that was working for the rest of you wasn't working for me.
I still couldn't figure out where to "un-set" Alt+1 for top of page. But I realized there was a num lk key (numbers lock) that is activated via Fn+numlk. And when my numberpad was activated via that method, and I typed Alt+0162 or Alt+0155, I was finally able to ¢ and › to my heart's delight! And for me, the cents symbol is Alt+0162, not Alt+0155, so a special thank you to Kaw1218 for that. Hope this helps someone else. Thank you again to everybody who helped me figure this out! ¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢! |

I just happened to check my SS from Newsday, and lo and behold, one of of the inside pages has just the date on the upper left binding (if anybody with the same insert is curious, it's the page with World's Best Cat Litter). This is different than the other date I was referring to, on the cover page; that date is part of a long line of info running up, not down the binding, and stating name of marketing company, date, and name of newspaper that the advertising supplement goes with.
So, yeh, if the binding on your SS just has the date running down, not up, and no other info there, and if the front of it has no big-print SmartSource title, then yeh, you do seem to be missing a few outer pages. |

I ended up going out and buying another paper, and I am missing half my SS from my home delivery. I have complained, though I don't know what they are planning to do about it. I probably should have bought two papers last night. :( |
