A good way to tell what date an insert is released, is by looking at the spine of an insert, it will say the date on which the insert is normally released, for example, my redplum that came on 08/03/08, reads on the spine near the top "targeted mail 08/03/08" it also reads near the bottom of the spine "valassis" Another example, my smart source from 08/24/08 reads on the spine "smartsource.com" and in the middle of the spine has a date "8/24/08" so I know it came out on the 24th, ok im sure everyone knows this, but for someone that maybe has never noticed its a good way to file/keep track of when a insert was released.

Sometimes when I dont have time to cut my inserts I will sort them in a file with the binder up and by their dates and use the spine to keep track of what date it came out and what type of insert it is for eg "smartsource" is also on the side or "valassis" or whatever the insert is will be stated some how on the spine and the date it came out.. I have no idea why. I got my mail today and had a big envelope from them. Opened it up and there it was: October's P&G insert.

Anyone had this happen before? What triggers it? How did I get so lucky?
