I was reading some articles last night on HCW's blog and came across the article about couponing and budgeting that included a great breakdown on how to start a stockpile slowly. After reading, I decided to look through this week's ad to see if there was anything I could get FREE or more than 50%. I do one heavy shopping trip a month and then little ones during the month. I have to change that. Anyway, while going through the ad, I discovered some great deals IMO.
Nestle Pure Life Water 6-pack .5L reg 2/$4.00 on sale B1G1 FREE less (2) mfg coupons $1/2 packs = $0.50 each or 75% savings
Ken's Salad Dressings 9 oz reg $1.88 on sale B1G1 FREE less (1) mfg coupon $1/2 8-9 oz = $0.44 each or 77% savings
Pediasure Sidekick reg 6.98 on sale for 5.98 less (1) catalina mfg coupon for $5.00/1 = .98 or 86% savings
(HOWEVER, just discovered that the pediasure did not scan at it's sale price so I only saved 72%I didn't pay close enough attention to the register. It was the first item scanned.)
Purina One Beyond Cat food 16 oz reg 2.48 less $2.00/1 coupon = .48 each or 81% savings
Selected Big G Cereal (Wheaties) reg 3.48 on sale 3/$6.00 less (1) mfg coupon $1.10/3 = 1.63 each LESS UNADVERTISED DEAL $1.00 = .63 PER BOX or 82% savings!!!
Yoplait Greek Yogurt reg 1.08 each on sale 10/$10.00 less (2) mfg coupons $0.50/2 (doubled) = $0.50 each or 54% savings. My husband's favorite yogurt so it has to be at least 50% before I'll buy it.
All total, I spent only 10.73 and now have the following in my stockpile:
4 - 6pks Pure Life bottled water (.50 each)
3 boxes Wheaties Cereal (.63 each)
2 16oz boxes of Cat food (.48 each)
2 9 oz jars of salad dressing (.44 each)
Plus, I was able to get what we use weekly: pediasure (1.98) and 4 greek yogurts (.50 each).
One thing I like about Ingles is that I don't have to buy ## products to get the ##/$$ price.
