The Ingles in my area says that there is a new cpn policy that limits 5 like items cpns per person. I had never heard of this policy. Customer Service mgr informed me of this after my whole order was rang up and cashier had taken off most of my cpns.
CS Manager said that this new policy was clearly posted for customers @ service desk. So I ask her to show it to me. After 15 minutes, she still couldn't show me where it was clearly posted, nor could she even show me a store memo to employees that stated this policy.
I informed her that I had just contacted corporate after a problem @ another store that told me I could only use 2 manufacturers cpns on the Rayovac batteries (I wasn't using ip cpns, they were manuf cpns from newspaper). When I called corporate, they said that policy only applied to ip's. She still refused to use more than 5 like item q's. So I just had here void my whole $50 order and return all my cpns and told her I would again contact corporate.
She wanted to tell me that they were doing this limiting because if they didn't, they would be giving ppl items for free. That statement makes me so mad! I explained to her that they are not giving couponers anything. That we buy the papers with the q's in them & the manufacturers are reimbursing Ingles for the face value plus .08 on each q.
Just reminds me of the reason I had quit shopping @ Ingles.
Just wanted to let everyone know that they may want to check with theire stores before encountering the problems and wasted time that I did.

I wonder, how many people have actually contacted Ingles to tell them how much their sales and coupon policies suck? Maybe they aren't even away that they actually are driving us away.
I contacted them about their policy a couple of months ago. They pretty much said that they were the pioneers of double coupon-ing and they wasn't changing it. I hardly go to Ingles except for produce. They mark it down on Saturday mornings and my Lowe's Foods is too high in produce. I do most of my coupon-ing at Lowe's Foods.

I have contacted them - specifically asked for the person who is in charge of such things - He said they model some of it after other stores like Kroger and Publix and that those stores actually copy them. Didn't make a lot of sense at the time either. He did say they have no plans to change to unlimited doubling at all, and that very few individuals have a problem with it.

I've always thought the limit was 4 like coupons. I got 8 ICBINB and asked how many like coupons they took and asked if I could do 2 transactions. They said I could only use 5 like coupons, so that was better than the 4 that I originally thought, but they wouldn't let me do 2 back-to-back transactions. She said it was because of the people buying all the free batteries. She said I could probably come back though and buy more, so I did.
Everywhere else I'm reading that the policy is/was 2 identical coupons per transaction, so the policy of 5 like coupons/trans. seems fair, just seems like you were lucky to have cashiers let it slide in the past.

The 6 Ingles stores in our area have never limited # of manufacturers cpns used. Only limited the ones that they would dbl to the 3 per $10. If the store policy stating 5 like items was clearly posted (as the cs mgr tried to say it was), it would be different, but it is not posted anywhere in the store.
Some of these mgrs & employees think they are the cpn police and can't stand to see us get free or cheap items! During the $1 battery sale, none of the stores I went to ever had a shortage of batteries and it is not like they aren't reimbursed the face value of cpn plus .08.
I had just called corporate the wk before and was told that as long as it wasn't an ip, there was no limit to how many manufacturers q's I could use (as long as the cpn didn't state "limit 1 cpn per person").
There are too many Bilo & Publix stores around here that dbl every day without all these problems. Also Bloom stores that have recently done triples, super dbls (to 1.98), and dbls (up to .99). I am going to just stick with those stores that seem to be more cpn friendly and don't have to spend so much time figuring out how many cpns will dbl and their unpredictable cpn policies.
Our Ingles in Spartanburg SC is only taking 2 like coupons of any kind per order and corporate does not care how badly you are treated in their stores. I did not shop at Ingles for months and even now I only spend minimal amounts there. It is just not worth the hassle.
