Default Ingles vs. Kroger

We recently moved and there is an Ingles nearby (eastern TN). I've usually shopped at Kroger and Food City, and I was wondering if I would find better deals at Ingles? I really haven't thought there have been very good deals at Kroger lately. (JMHO).

Thanks!!

I'm in East tennessee also. I actually shop at Ingles more, but only because its closer. During triple coupons, I usually do well. Ingles does limit the number of coupons you can double more than Kroger does.

Hmm....I didn't know that Ingles did triple coupons. We are closest to Food City, but I used to always shop at Kroger (before we moved here) so I've gone there too. I havne't been to either Ingles or Food Lion yet. I'd like to see what kind of deals they have but learning a new store is so hard...ha, ha! I put in a request to join East TN couponers group! Thanks!

I used to do most of my shopping at Ingles....until they started limiting coupons. Now I get better deals at Kroger and Publix.

I too am in east TN and love to shop at Krogers. DH loves Ingles but they are just too high for me, coupled with their coupon policy and the fact that they don't take IPs. That kills it for me. He is more "free" with our money(thank God I've been deal seeking and saving every way I know how...thanks to HCW) so it's no biggie if we go to Ingles and spend 65.00 on 10 items, in his eyes that's a good deal if everything is on sale. I can go to Krogers, like this past Friday, and get 80 items for 43.00. I don't purchase alot of meat from there, I prefer Food City or Ingles for that. Sometimes Food Lion has a good sale on porterhouse/ribeye steaks and we go spend $100+ on those...I wish I know how to fix things with other cuts of meat like a flank steak or something like that. I always thought that was a tough cut of meat. I just love my local Krogers! No fuss over Q's, IPs included and they take any Q as long as it says "manufacturer" on it. I love it.

Thanks for all the information....that is really helpful. That is a bummer about no IPs because I get alot of coupons there. Generally, I get meat and produce and whatever is on sale at Food City, sale items and some meat at Kroger, and anything not on sale at Wal-Mart...foodwise.

I might not mess with Ingles since it isn't very convenient unless I see a really good deal in the paper! I'm already going to enough different stores as it is. My 2 year old will be great shopper! ha, ha!!

i think it's a YMMV thing with the IP's. i shop at the clinton, tn store and they take IP's. so you may want to check first! i shop at the local ingles frequently. a new WM just moved in and i can't stand the thought of it causing the other local stores to go out of business. and the family loves their donuts and garlic bread!

Are you talking about the Ingles on 25 in that K-Mart shopping center? It would be great to shop there as I am just down the road in Powell. I usually shop a that K-Mart so it would be convenient to just swing in there too. Thanks for the info neighbor!

My Ingles in Sweetwater isn't coupon friendly so I shop at Krogers and Food Lion in Maryville, both are nice and I find some great deals in both. By the way I don't know if you know that the Wednesday Oak Ridger as at least one coupon insert that was in the sunday paper most of the time it's the SS
