Washington, IA HYVEE DOUBLES COUPONS

Just wanted to let anybody around Washington, IA to know that HY-VEE will be doubling coupons up to $1 every Wednesday in AUGUST. From what I was told they will double any manufacturers coupons up to a dollar, limit of ten coupons that will double. I asked a cashier about it and she said that if you have a coupon for $1 it will double to $2. But any coupon over $1 will not double. Here's the dates that they will be doubling.

AUGUST 10TH
AUGUST 17TH
AUGUST 24TH
AUGUST 31ST

I'm going to make a quick trip to the store in a bit and I will let everybody know how it goes.

Ok here's how my trip went:
Bought
2-C&H 4lb sugars (on sale for $1.99)
2-12.5 kelloggs pops $1.99
1 bag of lays chips $2.99
2-silk milk $3.29
2-hefty foam plates (on sale for $1.79)
2-10lb bag of tidy cat litter (on sale for Buy 1 at $1.99 get 1 FREE)
4-hefty one zip fresh extend bags $0.97
1-A&E party dip $0.97
1-20 oz of Mdew $1.64
Total before coupons was:
$30.12
Used these coupons:
2-$0.50/1 C&H 4lb sugar
2-$1/2 hefty one zip bags
1-$1/2 hefty plates
1-$1/1 Tidy cat
2-$1/1 Silk Half Gallon Milk
2-$0.70/1 Kelloggs 5oz or larger cereal
total coupon value:
$8.40 all coupons doubled so total amount of coupons were then $16.80
Total OOP: $13.32

First time ever that I was able to double coupon so I think I did good, planning on more trips this month on wednesday lol.

Jealous! I think DSM is a tad too big for them to be doubling. Wish I lived closer...I'd change my shopping day to Wednesday just for that!

I made another trip tonight after I got off work and had more time to plan what I wanted to get.

here's what I got:
4 boxes of kelloggs frosted flakes $1.99 each
6 boxes of kelloggs pops $1.99 each
5 oscar mayar deli creations $2.00 each
1 insulated lunch bag $3.89
before coupons total was: $33.79
used these coupons:
10 $0.70/1 kelloggs cereal
1 hyvee coupon: buy 10 kelloggs products get $5 off
1 hyvee coupon: buy 5 oscar mayar deli creations get lunch bag FREE
only manufactered coupons doubled so got an extra $7 off, plus there was a snafu at the checkout and for some reason the lunch bag coupon wasn't working so they did something (I don't know what but somehow they fixed it.)
Total OOP: $7.01

Do you know if there are plans do to anymore double couponing events? I wasn't able to make it ther ein August (live about half an hour away... actually not to far from MamaStu!)

in my sunday paper today 10/16 there was an add that included a giant double coupon, good up to .55 and they limit you to 10 coupons...........i just do a bunch of smaller transactions and sometimes they just give me $5.50 for the giant coupons no matter what coupons i have, if you have $1.00 coupons thou they won't give you more than $5.50 total value for the double coupon, so you can mix in .30 cent and $1.00 and all that and they'll just go up to a max of $5.50, some cashiers have only doubled the small ones i have so it's kind of hit and miss, i'm in Omaha, NE
