QUESTION Does ad prices vary by area?

I'm brand new to the Hyvee forum as our town's new Hyvee opens on Tuesday!

I read through the FAQ and it seems as though I can look up the Austin, MN ad to see what will be on sale at my store (I think ours will start on Tues or Wed).
I'm wondering though if I will encounter prices variances by doing this...like for Kroger, the ads are basically similar, but the prices, especially for meat, cheese, milk & produce can really vary by region, so I usually just look up an ad that's closer in location to me.

Anyone have any advice on this? TIA!

P.S. Is it bad that I was slightly bummed about the new store opening, just as I'm about to leave town on vacation. For Pete's sake, I tell myself, it'll be here when I get back! :)

The ad prices are pretty much the same everywhere but then the store have there own sales that others don't. Every week on Tuesday you can go on like and see the new ad. If your store starts on Wednesday you can preview it if you use the Fairbault MN. You can also fan them on Facebook and they will send put previews on sales like Red Hot Weekend. Hope this helps

motherofmolly,

I would love to check it out yet this week, but I work today & Tuesday & have evening appointments and then am leaving for vacation early Wednesday morning.
The newspaper insert said the prices will be good until next Tuesday so I'll just have to get my $1/lb strawberries when I get back. Gotta stock the freezer with smoothie ready fruit...mmmm...

Nice of them to offer a prescription transfer coupon for a $25 gift card! Why yes, I'll come fill a script if you're going to pay me to take groceries out of your store. ;)

Does Hy-Vee double coupons? I looked through a few threads but wasn't able to find out about this?

If not, I wonder how our new store will do smack-dab between Kroger & Schnucks, who both double Qs.

Not every store does so it's not a regular Hyvee policy to double, but some do. Mine just started a test run with it on Tuesdays only, and every month mgmt decides if they will do it again the following month. I would suggest it to your store mgr and see what they say.

i just got back. it was a MADHOUSE! i was not impressed with their prices...had a few deals for things in the store..$1.75 for some cereals..but i dont buy cereal....
there is a coupon book at the front door with hyvee coupons...but i didnt find any coupons in the store at all...a few peelies on hefty products that i skipped by. they had lots of people handing out samples with a few hyvee coupons.

look for kroger on lake to have some decent sales in the next couple of weeks. they are planning on doing some promotions on saturdays ..fil got hired to do his clowning there for two saturdays in a row...
