SAD Kansas city double coupon shoppers

Hi! I know that there's quite a few Kansas City shoppers on this board who were talking of switching from HyVee to another store who doubles coupons like Thriftway, Festival Foods, or Apple Market. I have had several bad experiences at the Thriftway on Parvin Road. They no longer accept internet coupons, and today they refused to take the Kraft coupons. I've also had problems with them not doubling coupons, and with their 10 for 10 not ring up sale price. HTH!!

Sorry to hear that. I sure miss Dillons for double coupons. :( I still go to Hen House when I can find good deals in the ad but I do a lot of price matching at the neighborhood market because it's close to our house so convenience counts. I've contemplated a trip to Sun Fresh now and then but I think they have some pretty odd rules on doubles and they don't include sales items so I've never tried. I've never had any trouble at the Hen House I shop at in Joco.

I hit HenHouse in Olathe & Overland Park. I've never had a problem with the doubles. Their rule is "limit 2 like coupons per order". I also travel to Lawrence, KS to do my double coupons. I was missing free toilet paper

So now I travel 30 miles (one way) once a month to do a few killer grocery deals.

Some of the cashiers from the store on SantaFe in Olathe (that was shut down) have moved out to the store on 23rd in Lawrence. It's really nice to see those friendly familiar faces.

I like to shop the Hen House in Lee's Summit. I only get to go about once a month though.

How come Hen House doesnt have a thread?

the store forums are based on how much demand there is for them. You can vote to get a hen house forum here

We do sometimes post good hen house deals in the Price Chopper/kc forum for now though.

HEN HOUSE -

What are the coupon rules. I have a store card for savings but I am looking to same more money on selective items in my basket. I heard they don't accept online coupons. Is this true?

For hen house, I am not sure if their coupon policy says they exclude printables, I assume they take them...I have used IP's there a few times before. Just on Monday to be exact. As long as they are not expired they should take them. If I find out any different, i will change my post. We are working on hopefully getting a hen house forum soon, which will have more information.

As far as savings go, they double coupons up to .50, so if you have a .50 coupon you will get 1.00 off. I believe there is a limit of two of the same products per transaction. The key is to combine sales for items you use with the coupon and the doubles and that will get your bill down.

Also, look for short dated products with orange $/off stickers, I have gotten cheap milk this way combined w/coupon and even free yogart at Price chopper and Hen House. Many times the products sell by date is 1 week a way so it has not spoiled yet.

HTH

Hen House is the only supermarket in my area that will double coupons (up to 50c). Hen House is very coupon-friendly-- even posts matchups on its website.

ANd if you haven't done so before, be sure to hit Hen House's Holiday Celebration in early November. If you attend Hen House will load all sorts of coupons onto your Hen House card-- some of which are free goodies and others that you can stack with manufacturers coupons.

The Ball family (Hen House owners) are truly wonderful people and they will go out of their way for you...

Free toilet paper is very hard to come by these days...When I started couponing a few years ago that was the end of free tp, the best prices I stocked up on were about .29-.49$ for a 4 roll double pack of marcal at hyvee, but the 2$ coupons haven't been out for maybe 6 months...

I am currently looking for toilet paper deals in the area and haven't found anything great for many months...Your best bet is to use wags RR or cvs ECB's that are about to expire and there are no better deals for you before they expire..Or use your overage 'credit' at walmart toward your tp purchase price plus a coupon.
