Kellogg's Hy-Vee Movie Ticket Voucher Offer

There is a MOVIE TICKET deal this week. Starts on page 17. Need to buy 12 items and get 2 movie tickets plus $6 in concessions. Looks like the fudge shop cookies will be the best deal 3/$5 and there are coupons out there for .55/1 and $1/2. so if you buy 12 @ $1.67 = 20.04 - 6 $1/2 coupons is only $8.04 even less is you use the .55/1 coupons.

Can't make out clearly but I think it is limit 4 per household. But need 4 forms and each in its own envie if it is like the last movie ticket offer that they have had.

This is a great deal as I have been out of movie tickets for months. We only go to the movies if we have free tickets. This will make the kids happy.

Did not look before submitting before but there are lots of coupons out for most of this stuff. If you like th yogo's there are $1 off coupons. My kids do not like them but I did just get some $1/2 fruit snacks off of ebay and also some .75 off of keebler flipside crackers.
My total will not be really low but low enough to justify it as a good deal for me.

It's 4:30 A.M. and I can't sleep, so of course I decided to work on a coupon match up for the movie ticket offer.

Problem one...

Big print in ad says this:

Get 2 Free Movie Tickets when you purchase any 10 participating Kellogg's, Keebler and/or Sunshine products.
Plus purchase any 2 additional participating products and get $6.00 concession cash.
A total of 12 products must be purchased to receive 2 movie tickets and 1 $6.00 concession cash voucher.

Small print on official order form says this:
Send 10 or 12 UPC symbols from any participating Kellogg's cereals and/or Pop-Tarts products [bold is mine]
but also this:
Participating Kellogg's, Keebler, Sunshine products (4 oz or larger, any flavor, mix or match, excludes single serve)


Problem two...

Sale dates run 4/13-19 or 4/14-20 or 4/15-21 or 4/16-22 depending on location.

Small print on official order form says this:
Send original cash register receipt dated from 4/26/08 through 5/2/08 with prices circled.

I feel this offer may get confusing... well it already is. Anyway, in order to keep our weekly ad thread easier to follow, I have moved the posts on this offer to their own thread.

This morning I sent the message below to Kellogg's through the form on their Web site. I will let you know everything I hear back. (Let me get a second cup of coffee, and I'll call Hy-Vee to get their side of the story.)

I learned of a promotion in which one sends in 10 (or 12) qualifying UPCs to earn two movie tickets (and concession cash) in the current Hy-Vee grocery stores ad. I have a few questions about this promotion. If you are not familiar with the Hy-Vee ad, you can find it by visiting their Web site at Hy-Vee ::. Click the Weekly Specials link in the upper right hand corner and choose to view the ad for Des Moines, Iowa. (The previous week's ad is still in effect in some regions. You will know you have the correct ad if it has a hamburger wearing a graduation cap on the cover.) There is a special section advertising Kellogg's, Keebler, and Sunshine products on pages 18 - 21, and page 20 proclaims "Get 2 free (with purchase) movie tickets! when you purchase 10 participating Kellogg's, Keebler, and/or Sunshine products. (A total of 12 products must be purchased to receive 2 movie tickets and 1 $6.00 concession cash voucher)" 1) Nowhere does it specifically list "participating products," but one would logically infer that it is all the products included on those four thematically linked pages. However, I know my inference is not binding, so I checked the print on the Official Order Form included on page 20. It says to send 10 or 12 UPC symbols from "any participating Kellogg's cereals and/or Pop-Tarts products." Not only is this far fewer products than I would have thought, it directly contradicts the text of the ad which mentions participating Keebler and Sunshine products. Can you resolve this confusion for me? Perhaps provide a complete text list of the products whose UPCs will be accepted for this promotion? 2) Having the ad with these sale prices in one's hand, the logical thing to do is to go to the store and start buying products in order to can send in the UPCs. The ad prices are effective in my area today 4/15/08 though 4/21/08. (In other regions the prices are effective April 13-19, 14-20, or 16-22.) However, I noticed that the Official Order Form says to send a cash register receipt "dated from 4/26/08 through 5/2/08." I think it is unfair and misleading for this to be an entirely different range of dates. Is this really the way your company intended to set up the promotion? 3) I attempted to find more information about this promotion on your Web site at Kellogg's Promotions - A Complete List, but could not find it listed. Hey, that wasn't so bad. I called Hy-Vee corporate and was transfered to the advertising department. I had a great chat with Hillary there.

She immediately understood my two questions: participating products and date of purchase. She said that in both cases the wording on the Official Order form is incorrect.

She said that all the products on that four page section are the participating products and that the dates of purchase should be 4/12/08 - 4/30/08. And she said that an e-mail was sent to stores and they should have signs up explaining the problem in the ad.

I asked if there would be corrected order forms available, and she said no. She did say that they had been in contact with the Kellogg's reps and confirmed the product list and dates.

Personally, I'd really like a corrected form, but maybe the paranoid among us could take a snapshot of the in-store sign. -lol-

I still intend to post my reply from Kellogg when I get one. I guess I better get started on that coupon matchup now.


Oh, you'll notice that I haven't asked anyone the one receipt vs. multiple trips to the store question. Since previous Kellogg's offers had to be done all in one trip, I just assume this one is the same way.

Has anyone decided to try this yet? My store had absoluetely no signs and it depends on who is working to whether or not they have any clue about the ad/coupons in general. I am just really hesitant to try with the wrong dates on the form??

I never did get a reply from Kellogg's, and I haven't been to Hy-Vee this week.

The number for corporate is on the Hy-Vee Web site. I would recommend asing to talk to advertising cause it's about the ad. Then let them know that your store doesn't have any signs up, so you're concerned, etc.
