If you live in a high humidity area, use those silica gel packets (you know, the little "do not eat" packets) inside your computer to absorb the moisture inside the case. It helps to protect the components.

You can tape them to the inside bottom of the computer case.

I am a technical flunkie when it comes to these gadgets.

my shuffle is frozen, green light on but no music plays. When I hook it to the pc, songs are on it.

I did try and hook it to DD's pc since I was going to burn my songs on a cd and I don't have a burner on mine. After I did that is when it froze.

I deleted all the songs, then re-installed them and it still won't play. I have turned it off and back on and still nothing.

What else should I try?

I didn't think there was anything left for DH to break or screw up but alas, I go to use the paper shredder tonight and find that he has left me an early Christmas gift in it. A credit card inside of an envelope that he didn't even bother to open, jammed and mangled inside of the shredder. I've talked to him about this before but his manhood makes him ignore me and continue stuffing oversized pieces of mail into the shredder to see how much it can possibly handle. He's finally met his match.

Unfortunately, I am the man of the house and the only person who can successfully use tools without subsequently breaking yet another item.

I've tried pulling said credit card offer out with pliers with no luck. The reverse button doesn't spit it back out at me, and the auto button doesn't spit it into the can. I've tried feeding a sheet of cardstock through and it looks like the apparatus is not even spinning to catch the papers. I fear I am now the proud owner of an incredibly oversized, overpriced pencil sharpener. Any suggestions? (besides disallowing DH's use of the shredder)

call the co and tell them it won't work and they might send you a free new one we did that at work with THREE yes three of them- they kept breaking and we were nice to them!! THey never asked for the broken one back to much shipping KWIM

Have you gotten the rest of the paper out that was around the card? Reducing some of the bulk may help

that is awesome! I will have to try that. My brother just offered to tinker with it over Christmas but in the meantime I'm irritated. I like shredding colored paper to use as fillers in gift baskets. I guess I'll just have to buy some this year...
