We got microfiber bath towels for Christmas and I love them. I think the retail for about $35 each!

FYI: for those who need microfiber liners for cloth diapers, these also work great for that purpose! MUCH less expensive than specialty microfiber fabric from a fabric store.

I love microfiber towels!! I don't use them in the kitchen, but for other cleaning and dusting. My biggest complaint is that they shouldn't be bleached...so that is why I don't use them in the kitchen. I guess I could put them in the microwave...LOL.

I also bought two to use when we did the tile in our bathroom. Cleaning up grout is a tedious and messy job. If you don't get all of the residue off you can be left with a haze that is permanent. Usually, you clean each tile 5-6 times with a damp sponge, one wipe with each side of the sponge so that is really wiping each tile 10-12 times. I still used the sponges for the first two wipe downs but then for the third I used a damp microfiber towel. After that I used a dry one to get off any remaining haze. It worked so well and so easily that I will use them for tile from now on.

I just picked up a package of microfiber towels at Costco today in the auto section. The package I got contains 24 yellow towels that are 14x16 each and it was $8.99. I will try them for general household cleaning, everybody's reports sound good.

Great price! Let us know what you think.

Larissa, I'm going to try them as liners; I was just about to order some quality microfleece & this might save me the expense.

Remember to never use softener on these, as it drastically reduces the "microfoberiness" of them. I always wash mine in hot hot hot water.

I bought these last month at Advance Auto Parts:

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...rtnumber=MG155

DH had to get some parts for his car, so we were able to use the $5/$25 coupon too. Colors are white, navy, and orange.

Default Re: In The Kitchen ~ Tips & Tricks

Oven Cleaner

Prevention: Put a sheet of aluminum foil on the floor of the oven, underneath but not touching the heating element. Although this may slightly affect the browning of the food, the foil can be easily disposed of when soiled. Clean up the spill as soon as it occurs.

Salt: While the oven is still warm, sprinkle salt on the spill. If the spill is completely dry, wet the spill lightly before sprinkling on salt. When the oven cools down, scrape away the spill and wash the area clean.

Vinegar: Retard grease buildup in your oven by dampening your cleaning rag in vinegar and water before wiping out your oven.

Baking Soda & Very Very Fine Steel Wool: Sprinkle water followed by a layer of baking soda. Rub gently with a very fine steel wool pad for tough spots. Wipe off scum with dry paper towels or a sponge. Rinse well and wipe dry.

Arm & Hammer Oven Cleaner: Consumers Union chemists declared this product nontoxic. Use according to label directions.

I've seen about putting your dish sponge in the microwave for a minute or so to sanitize it.

Because of this post.....I bought some at Target to try...

I clean houses for a living...........

Using these has drastically cut the amount of time I spend cleaning kitchens and baths................and I charge a flat fee...not hourly so if I invest in something like this.........I recoup the cost in a short period of time!!

Thanks Lisa!!!
