Thanks for the tips! Do you think this would work in the sink?

I have found that a pound of prevention is worth a ounce of cure...meaning that its better to prevent the hair and gunk from getting in your drains in the first place by purchasing (cheep $1.00 or less at most hardware/mart stores) hair traps and slipping on in each drain. This prevents hair from getting down there in the first place, as well as toys, jewelry, and other things.

Baking soda and vinegar followed by a tea kettle of boiling water after the fizzies go down is a great way to break up soap and/or grease build up. I do it once a month to all drains. Keeps them clog free.

Does this break up dog fur that might be clogging the drains also? I give my dog a bath about once a month in our tub and I notice the drain always runs slower afterwards even though I don't see much of his fur going down it...

For hair, they sell a long plastic tool with teeth on it....
Ah...here it is. http://www.kk.org/cooltools/archives/000507.php

I love it...pulls out lots of hair (yuck...I recommend gloves for this job) and then follow with the vinegar to get the buildup off the pipes an the drain mechanisms. I have seen them at WM too.

Default Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner - Refill Alternatives

I bought Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner a few weeks ago and I am noticing how quickly things run down and how expensive this would be to upkeep.

I was wondering if anyone had come up with something that could be used to refill the refill cartridge to help my shower stay clean, while not costing $2 a week.

I assume they are using the basic "clean shower" product. I know many who buy that, but forget to USE it!

I am going to try refilling the bottle with Tilex. Much less money for a bigger refill.
