Electrosol: Do you like the powerball tabs better or the gel pacs?

I just stocked up on another years worth of dishwasher soap.

Ds 13 yr old is the one who does the dishwasher here. He tells me he likes the Gel pacs better I think it is only because he doesn't have to mess with opening the individual packets, as it can be a pain if your hands are already wet from loading the dishes. I have taken my mil's advise and each time a new box of tabs is open I take the time to open each packet so all he has to do is grab them and put them in the little dispenser thing.

I am using up last years stock pile of finish and they are the tabs and there was 1 box of gel pacs left and over the course of the year we switch back and forth between what ever box he grabbed from the stock pile. Occasionally the dishwasher sprayer arm would get plugged and I would take it apart and pull particles or sometimes a piece of paper or plastic maybe that was left on a recyclable can or jar he loaded in the washer but both seem to work really good for us.

I am curious if you like one better than the other. This years stock pile is just the gel pacs because that is what I was finding the better deal on.

I stocked 26 or 28 boxes of 25 ct. soap and out of all of that I think 2 are the tabs with the powerball and the rest are gel pacs. I was thinking of the Ds when I stocked up

I am with DS, I prefer the gel pacs too. For some reason the powerballs leave a film of soap scum like stuff on the sprayers. I usually just add a couple tablespoons of bleach and that takes care of it. But, I don't have that problem if I use the gel pacs.

This. I'll use the power tabs, but then I'll alternate with a box of geltabs.

Yep, gel pacs here too. The power ball seems to leave a lot of gritty residue.

We prefer the tabs over the gelpacs here. DH does that chore, and I can't remember the exact reason why, but I think the gelpacs don't break up all the way for us or something.

I like the gel pacs better, but they gunk up my dishwasher and they turn green when stored in the garage in the heat. The tabs are more practical and store better, but sometimes they leave the grit on top of the glasses.

Our sprayer arm would get plugged up, too. I always thought it was our hard water?

We have that problem too. The pac doesn't dissolve.

I prefer the gel pacs too. I occasionally find that it doesn't dissolve, but still have fewer problems than with the tabs.

No problems with either one. I like to use the Quantum whenever I can get a good deal- that seems to work the best in my d/w.

Anything but Cascade! Ugh. That stuff is awful. Ever since they took out the phosphates, it doesn't clean anything.
Of course, I'm talking about the liquid - I can't say about the individual packs, since I never get a good deal on them. But the few times I bought Cascade liquid I've been left disappointed.
