You can run an empty cycle with just vinegar. Also try keeping the lid open after use to help it dry.
Wandering what you use to clean the inside of the washers. Mine's had a weird (not nice) smell. Tried wiping it all down/running a cycle with nothing inside/etc. Nothing seems to help.

Ditto, keep the door on it open.
Clean out the gasket/filter at the door.
I am always amazed at what I find in there.

Thanks Amy - but do you have the vinegar inside the washer, or added into the top where the detergent/sofener goes?
I have been closing the door right away too - sorry, my lovely washer. I didn't mean to make you smelly! I *heart* my washer.![]()
I always leave the door open and make sure I wipe down the rubber gasket and the inside of the glass door with Lysol wipes periodically as well. Amazing how much dirt accumulates in both those places.
And if you can't leave the door open, you can use half water/half bleach in the dispenser and run a short cycle periodically.
Love these washers though!!

I saw an ad for a Tide product that is used for cleaning washers. I haven't tried it though. Mine is only a few months old. It's a top loader and I always leave the top open. No problems yet.
^^ I tried the Tide Washing Machine Cleaner when it first came out (sale and large Q brought the cost to $1 - I am willing to experiment for that price!). The stainless steel tub seemed a bit brighter - no rainbow haze-and it smelled clean. If I had to pay full price, however, I'd do the vinegar trick in a heartbeat. I use vinegar in my dishwasher the same way.
PS I LOVE my front loader too!

I agree with other posts. Run a cycle with vinegar. Leave the door open between loads. I also sprinkle baking soda into the tub sometimes when it will be sitting unused for a bit. (but that doesn't happen often lol) I also include vinegar and baking soda into some of my loads (usually towels) that seems to help keep smell away.
Also DO NOT leave clothes in it closed up overnight. I had started washing a load right before bed so I could hang it out first thing in am before work. Washer and clothes started to get smelly pretty quick!!
I also LOVE my front loader.

ENJOY YOUR DAY!!!!!
Your washer might have a "clean" cycle where you run a cycle with bleach through it. Our HE washer does, and suggests running the cycle once per month.
And yes to keeping the lid open. That really helps.
