We make the Kool-aid that you have to add your own sugar. It calls for 1 cup, but I only use 2/3 of a cup. I'm not sure my family has ever had it "full strength"!! It doesn't make the Kool-aid packets last any longer...but it makes the sugar go farther!

Your iced tea suggestion made me think about a recipe I have somewhere for iced tea syrup. I'll have to dig it up. I drink my tea unsweetened, so I haven't made this in a long time. You make a really strong, really sweet mixture, and keep it in the fridge...just adding it to cold water when you want a glass.

I do the same thing with the kool-aid and mixed drinks. Most make 2 quarts, so I always add about 1/3 extra water to the pitcher and top it off, makes the drink last longer and it's not as strong.

I water down floor cleaners, put them in an empty spray bottle, and use that to spot treat the floor when I don't feel like doing an all out mopping session with the bucket and such. Plus it drys faster!!

I use empty plastic bottles (like gatorade), put some rice in and let my daughter paint them, and instant noise maker!

When the laundry detergent is on its last drop, I fill it with water, shake it up, and I get one more load out of it.

All I can think of for now. But I love reading these!

Whenever you bathe or shower, skip actually soaping up some body part, but not the same one each time -- rotate. Skip a foot this time, an arm next. Over time it can help save on soap or body wash.
