I don't know how long it keeps - I never have a whole lot of that on hand at any given time, but I know that eventually will get old and seperate after time - but I think just shaking it up really good - will do the trick...
How long does dishwashing liquid keep? I've got a huge stockpile and I've noticed it is starting to get really liquidy. I have to shake it up real good each time I go to use some. Is it bad? I can't find an expiration date on it.

I haven't bought any since 3 or 4 years ago. So far mine is fine. I think I have 2 full bottles left. I mix it in one of those Dawn Direct Foam pumps using less than an inch of soap and filling with water. Those two bottles plus the partial I have will probably last another year possibly two.
I think it does go bad. I got some cascade on clearance a while back and it is really watery and does not do a very good job at cleaning the dishes.
I can shake it all I want and it is still watery until I get to the bottom of the bottle then it is white otherwise it looks like water coming out.
I just use it along with the electrasol tabs I have since the electrasol is not cleaning to my satisfaction.

If for some reason it is antibacterial (which I, personally, would stay far far away from) then it would/should have an expiration.
If it is plain jane dawn or something, then I just shake mine. I haven't had any problems with my supply of it - but it is also kept indoors.
Regular dishwashing liquid does not expire, as in go bad and won't make bubbles and wash your dishes well, however as you have experienced it can separate over time. Shaking it should do the trick. Automatic dishwashing detergent however can become less effective over time. The liquid kind is usually ok for a year or two if stored in a cool location and the tabs and gel packs too a year or two if stored in a cool and dry location.
