Heat my house and dry my clothes at the same time

I did this once and my dryer is in the kitchen near the electrical box. Well there was so much moisture the walls were dripping! All around the electrical box. You never saw someone run around with a room with a towel drying everything off. SO please be very careful!

i am a clothes hanger too....i turn my heat up at night and down during the day (we have a solar heater and a electric heater to use during the day).....but i hang my clothes up at night and then they are dry in the morning...

and i have to agree with everyone else...and 10 minutes isnt going to give you that much more heat in the house

If you do leave it disconnected, also make sure to block the hole it came out of as you could get more cold air in than heat you are creating with the dryer. Also critters love little holes to crawl into, though hopefully the opening to the outdoors is blocked by some kind of mesh or grate.

I wouldn't do this unless you are sure your dryer doesn't have parts containing asbestos!!!

EDIT: I've thought about this some more and decided that this isn't a good idea even if you are sure there is no asbestos in your dryer parts... as others have said, the air that it blows out would not be very pure in any case, and also dryers give off a lot of positive ions, which can make people feel crappy. Better to let that stuff blow outside.
