    Default Coupons sticking together

when you use them.????. i am always thinking some may have stuck together thats why my total is higher.. i try to watch but its hard when they go so fast and they beep when they take and when they don't... any hoo!!! my idea was to take all my ip's and powder them... YES thats right i used corn starch...baby powder will work too..i laid a paper towel on counter and shook corn starch on it... smoothed out with my hand and rubbed each coupon on the towel and with my hand... tamped them on the counter to remove loose powder and viola!!! no sticky together!!! i know its time consuming and messy but i un stapled all my multiples also and did the same.. i wrote with pencil in small on top of each " batch" how many are there... now i only did this with the ones that i will use soon...but i plan on doing this to all the ip's they always stick together... and on my large batches of coupons... they slide apart so easy now..! i hope this helps ... it may be a bit messy but it worked for me...

    Hey Rose!
I crumple my coupons up. Each one I take and crumple it up (away from the barcode part) and then kind of smooth them back out in my stack. I do this right before checkout, when I'm making sure I have everything right. It took me awhile to get over the "messy" look of it, but I haven't had any coupons missed during checkout since I've been doing this!

That's a good idea... I use that sortkwik finger moisterizer for myself and crumple the sticky coupons in my batch to prevent them from sticking together... It was something that was taught to me as a kid when dealing with new dollar bills used at our family gas station.

I've done that with sticky backed coupons. I can just see the news now, the ATF or FBI is going to run into a store for a white powder like substance all over the coupons.

I try to stack mine by size when I give them to the cashier. little-big-little-big etc.

I turn my coupons different directions. I alternate one with the amount and expiration date on top and the next with the bar code on top. This way you can watch the cashier and notice if they miss a coupon. They also usually take the extra time to turn them to scan them. If they are short I may turn every other one sideways. Also, if I have several of one coupon, I lay them in stacks and hand them to the cashier by item.

gee, I'm really "low tech" ... I just either hand the individual Qs to cashier OR if the "belt" has stopped running on the bagging side, I lay them out individually, politely explaining to the casheir that I'm anal, and this is easier for me to review my purchases and hopefully pull out any for items I meant to buy but didn't.
In my envelope, I put smooth ones between rough ones, large between small. If I have multiples, I put them in different areas of the envie. I like putting all like ones together, but got tired of either me or cashier not realizing there were multiples.
Sometimes, I put them together by denomination ... that's when I'm bored and have time waiting on another shopper to check out.

I also hand them to the cashier one at a time. I had a smart aleck cashier one time just tell me to hand him all the coupons at one time and quit handing them to him one at a time. So I did and when I got to the car noticed that quite a few of my coupons hadn't been scanned. So lesson learned from now on if a cashier tells me to just hand them to him/her I just tell them no thanks I'd rather do it this way.
