My DD got into the tub of vaseline this morning and put no less than half the tub into her hair (her hair is about 6" long.)
I cleaned out the excess (what I could) with a dry washcloth and since then have washed it no less than 10x with regular dawn dishsoap and a few times with head and shoulders and baby wash. her hair is still greasy. what should I try next?????????????? :hectic1:

OMG!!! We've probably all lived through something like this! Hang in there!
I found this...hope it helps!!!
Removing Vaseline
If you apply a little cornstarch to the hair and carefully pat it into the hair, it will absorb some, if not all the vaseline. After you apply the cornstarch you can shampoo it out with a good clarifying shampoo and it should be removed. If the vaseline is not completely removed in the first treatment, it will be removed to the point where one more treatment will remove all of it. Be sure to use warm to hot water in the shampoo. Cold water makes the vaseline worse.
Or you can try putting about 1 teaspoon of baking soda and mixing it with a regular baby shampoo and this should help. Unfortunately Vaseline is petroleum based and can be almost impossible to remove. If the clarifying or baking soda does not work, try using soft tissue to blot the hair and see if that removes some of it.
You can try a good clarifying shampoo like Edwin Paul Classic Shampoo, Vain Peppermint Strip or Philou Green Apple. Be sure to use warm to hot water. Cold water makes the vaseline worse.
DAWN! Dawn is a wonder drug for any greasy stuff your kids put in their hair or on anything else. It is gentle (but don't get it in their eyes) and cuts the grease like nothing else. We've used it on Vaseline, Desitin, handcream, etc.

I remember when a friends child did this soo funny.
Try not to worry it will come out!! In fact enjoy this soon enough she will be far past such silly behavior!!
