We normally do lemonade or limeade (all restaurants with a bar have lime wedges as well as lemon).

I can't see our Ihop letting us do this without causing a scene. Its near the mall so they have lots of issues with kids skipping on checks and causing a mess without a nice tip.

The only other I can think of is "tomato soup"
Ketchup thinned with hot water.

I wouldn't do it in a sit down restaurant, period. Quick service, sure, why not; you get in, you get out, and it's done with.

hehe Can you add anything else to the "tomato soup?"

That's funny! It reminds me of a trick I saw to make a lankety ice cream maker with ziploc bags.

haha That's a big thing for my friend and I. We ALWAYS make "homemade ice cream" with the ziploc bags when we get together for a girls' movie night at home. It's become a tradition. ;)

we always made "kick the can" ice cream. Ziploc bag and coffee can. Same principle, you duct tape the lid down and kick it around. much better for releasing aggression....

...we've been trying to find a deal on the pretty plastic ones they sell at walmart and camping places. They come in two sizes and pink, blue and purple.

I just order food. I guess I'm not the creative type.

This seems like a LOT of work for very little reward. Although, it might be good to do when you have kids that are getting impatient waiting.

I did the salt/ice ice cream when I was in elementary school science, but at least then you got a full serving for your work! ;)

Ooh! Is that the one that's like a big hamster ball? I think I saw it on Food Network (Alton Brown's Good Eats, most likely). It seems fun. :)

@druidessemily: I actually tried this in the school cafeteria... it took less than 5 minutes to get the creamers frozen... and I think I only had about 5 ice cubes in there as well. I didn't even have to shake it vigorously... just a little. :) And yeah... it is a small "reward," but I bet it'd be fun to do with the kids I babysit from time to time.
