1 Quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
    1/4 cup of Baking Soda
    1 teaspoon of Liquid Soap
Wash while mixture is bubbling... rinse off with tap water.

    EAR WASH
This is the best solution: <br>
16 oz. bottle isopropyl alcohol (or witch hazel)
    4 tablespoons Boric Acid Powder
16 drops Gentian Violet 1% Solution

gentian violet comes in a tiny bottle I have found it at CVS and WalMart ... ask your pharmacist.

Mix all ingredients in the alcohol bottle & shake. (make sure you shake before every application).

Treatment: Fill ear with solution & massage gently for 30 seconds and wipe with a tissue. Fill a second time and just wipe without massaging. The dog will shake the excess out. Be careful, the Gentian Violet could stain. I use a eye dropper to fill the ear.

    Treatment:
2 times per day for the first 2 weeks
1 time per day for the next 2 weeks
    1 time per month thereafter

If you are concerned about the alcohol burning the inside of the ear (it could if the dog has been scratching its ear), then you can substitute the alcohol with Witch Hazel.

Pet Owners: I finally [accidentally] found a good use for my excess toothpaste [not that I have managed to put a dent into my stash yet, LOL].

Cat litter pans - after they are used for a while and a bit scratched [or chewed on at the corners from litterbox training pups] - are really hard to clean inside the little scratch + bite marks. When I was last soaking a batch in the tub I ran out of my special pet odor cleaner and I decided to use a tube of tooth paste [that had been laying around for several weeks that neither of us liked to use] and to my surprise it cleaned it w/out any elbow grease, deodorized and neutralized pee/poop smells and cleaned up the mess considerably better than the way more expensive professional cleaners. I have since used it successfully in/on my plastic dog carriers that I use for vet trips and for crate training as well. Works like a charm! Give it a try!
    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Zymox is GREAT for dogs with very very very bad recurring and chronic ear infections.

My Male has had SO much trouble with it with no relief no matter what I do.
I feed a RAW diet and still he had trouble.

So I tried this and IT WORKS!

It costs about $9.99 plus S&H.

Have a hard time crating your cat when it's time to go to the vet clinic or boarding kennel? Leave the crate out where the cat can run in and out of it freely. Make it a comfy, good place for kitty. Kitty will still complain in the car, but getting the cat to go in the carrier will be easier after a while. I often find my cats asleep in their crates and they will even shut the doors on each other.

Cat chewing electrical cords and/or leather objects (or anything else)? Buy a toy bull whip! NO! Not to whip the cat with. Make it a toy that kitty is allowed to chew on and chase around. It's cord-like AND leather. Mine love it! Better buy several to keep in reserve, because they WILL get torn up over time. So how do I keep kitty from chewing the actual cords/leather objects? The word "NO" is merely ignored! Make them non-accessible to kitty when you are not there. If you catch kitty attempting to chew or looking like they are going to chew, make territorial cat fight noises and hiss. It sounds silly, but it gets your point across. Get the whip out and play with kitty to distract after your point has been made and kitty stops trying to chew the no-no's. Don't forget to praise kitty for ignoring the no-no's and playing with the whip! Kitties LOVE praise!
