Halloween Recyclable/reusable shopping bags and paper trash bags

I've been wondering about starting to use paper bag trash can liners in my offering to help the environment and rid the use of plastics all together. Does anyone use these type of trash can liners? I'd love for all of us to jump in on this discussion and see where it will take us. Here is one of many I have come across while searching:

Trash Bags - Cleaning Products - Recycled Paper Product, Environmental Paper, Recycled Envelopes – Green Line Paper

(I hope this is a good forum to start.
MODS- please move if you feel the need - TIA!)

We don't personally use them since I'm a little too cheap and we're pretty good about everything else, but there are a couple of threads over at Organic Grocery Deals you might want to check out:

Trash Bags - Organic Grocery Deals

Biodegradable Trash bags - Organic Grocery Deals

You can also check out the OGD store link that Heidi posted over there to get a better idea of brands and prices, too.

Amazon Store - Search Results - Home & Garden

Hope that helps!

Target plastic bags fit perfectly in my trash can. Just loop the top sides over. snug fit.

Target are my favorite!

I bring my own bags everywhere else. They are great, and a little thicker than the ones from the grocery store!

I agree with you on the expense side of it and we're great on recycling - we are only a family of 3 and don't have much garbage now to begin with so I'd like to try and go this route. Thanks again for your input, I appreciate it, and thanks! I will definitely try those links you provided.

I've been hearing and seeing a lot of good things said about Target bags, I will have to try those for sure! Thank you!

Now that we are in a house, in a city that provides trashcans, I no longer use any trashbags.

The trash is sent from the can in the house directly to the can outside, and I rinse it with the garden hose.

I'm using my reusable grocery bags now that I have a collection of them, but I still end up with a few plastic bags when I buy more than what will fit in the bags.

The few grocery sacks I end up with are used for lining the cat box, diaper pail and bathroom trash.

Harris Teeter has their own brand of biodegradable trash bags so they will eventually go away in the landfill.
