CHAT Energy Saver Light Bulb Warning (CFL's) Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs.

    Hey,

I just saw in the "Free Forum", a thread about signing up for a free energy light bulb(s).

The other day a good friend of mine sent me this email about the "Energy Saver Light Bulbs". (CFL's) Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs.

I want to share this information with you all. Please watch was is going on in congress about our safety.

These light bulbs are dangerous. (On the box of these light bulbs are a huge list of warnings).

Please copy and paste the link below and take a few minutes to watch this.

YouTube - IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT ENERGY SAVER LIGHT BULBS!

Please let me know what you think.:shrug7: If this is all true I am stocking up on the old fashion kind. Yes, fluorescent light bulbs are dangerous but, we might be forced to have these only in our homes. (No choice).

    Thanks all!!

I looked this up on Snopes and here is the link for that. snopes.com: CFL Mercury Light Bulbs They actually quote part of that article in it. If you read the whole Snopes article it says more accurately the facts in the story about the woman that had to call the Department of Environmental Protection. Yes, the bulbs can be dangerous, but not to the point where people are going to die. Some extra steps do need to be taken if they were to break in your home.

Did any of you watch the Youtube clip with the Senator? What was your impression on that?

Tell me on a regular light bulb, is there that much warning written on it. Do I have to ventilate my home. Can't sweep or vacuum and the next time I vacuum I have to turn off all ventilation in my house. There is about ten steps to take when it is broken. I'm lucky I get all the piece off the floor when I drop a plate/glass without sweeping it up.

The whole point was, that we are going to have to use these by the year 2014. I doubt it's warnings are going to deminish. We might have no choice in this matter. To save the earth and energy we are going to have to put up with all this. And when we dispose of them, the earth is going to be worse off then we started!!

As for the second link I mentioned. I wasn't aware that Snopes had it on there sight. I am a very Snoppy girl. I snope everything I get from emails.
The warnings are still the same. Just the lady and miscommunication.

But my only concern is this: Why would a Senator be trying to stop it?

But, what about the law that is going to be past in 2014? What are we to do about that. That Senator was trying to make a point about our safety.
