Christmas ❈ Would anyone be willing to help? ❈

to all my crochet and kniiting friends, may I ask you a huge favor? This past Nov my beloved Grandma turned 99!! She is in a nursing home and is one of the "kids" favorites (she calls the home, the school and the residents are kids)...I would love to be able to give the kids some wonderful Chirstmas gifts as thank yous.. I am wondering if there are about 20 kind souls out there who would knit or crochet a blankie for them? If you are interested, please pm me!!! Pretty sure there are 20 in her side and at least 2 guys. Some of these KIDS are not able to leave, to spend time with family, or even see their family as no one visits them. Thanks in advance!!!!

ETA: Will also accept knotted fleece blankets

If you are interested, please PM me for my addie...

    Thank you soo much!!!

Great idea!! Sorry I can't help. My DD is on me cuz I haven't finished her blanket tht Istarted last year. lol.
Hope you get the help you need!!!
Are you on Facebook? Maybe you could post this same thing for your more 'local' friends?
OR....... Do you have a local Girl Scout group? When I was a leader we adopted grandparents andtok em stuff. This helped with earning some badges also. So maybe a local group could help you? There is a sewing badge they could earn.

Oh, wow, I would have needed to know several weeks ago to be able to get it done before Christmas. I have holiday craft projects coming out of my ears. I really hope someone can help, so here's a bump at least. It's a nice idea.

I apologize if this is a crappy offer. For what it's worth, my intentions are good.

I came across a project I started more than five years ago. It's bright green (it was a child themed project hence the eye popping green). It is a good size for a lap spread, but it's been balled up in a bag for over five years, so it's all rumpled and out of shape. I can't guarantee how it will shape up once washed and allowed to dry properly, and I am hesitant to wash it and try to reshape it at home because I wash a lot of animal bedding and would hate for errant pet fuzz to end up on something that may end up where there are allergies, so I'd leave any laundering and reshaping attempts to you. If you think you can use it or make it work, it's yours. I hate that I don't have time to complete a new project in time for Christmas.

    Here's a picture:

I really think (or hope?) it will shape up ok if washed and laid flat to dry, but no hard feelings if you can't use it or if it's too ugly. I'm only going to unravel it for another project, anyway.

That green blanket would look great with some colorful knotted fringe, don't you think?
