    HCW Holiday Helping Hands Families

One of Our HCW Holiday Helping Hands Families this year is Deallover.

Sandi has been a HotCouponWorld member since February 2009.

This year has been a long one with a series of things that just keep happening to make paying bills hard right now, so providing Christmas for her children was a big concern. There are 2 adult children living at home and the 3 younger kids as well.

Our goal is to help make this Holiday season a little bit easier and to put some things under the tree for the kids.
As always members are welcome to shop for the kids , and we appreciate any support of the many fundraisers we will be doing on the site for the next month .

Here's some info about Sandi's kids:

Carson is 15 and very much the typical teenage boy.

He plays baseball in high school and is a huge fan of the Washington Redskins and Washington Capitals. He likes classic rock Journey, Styx, Black Sabbath, AC/DC etc and likes newer hard rock too. He likes band t-shirts and clothing with the trendy skull logo's. He's also really likes dragons and wizard items.

    Some gift ideas for Carson:
Headphones, Washington Redskins items . He could also use a couple of hoodie sweatshirts or sleep pants . Family Guy seasons on DVD. He has access to a PS3 and Xbox 360, so games for those or Game Stop or Disc Replay certificates are great.Candy.

Sizes: He wears a mans large in t-shirts and 32X30 in jeans.

Shaelynn is 10 and in her moms words "10 going on 20"

She is very girly and loves clothes, make up, jewelry, shopping & crafting. She also plays competitive softball .

    Some gift ideas for Shaelynn:

She would like softball themed shirts or sweats and shorts. She loves all things Twilight and arts and crafts items. A few crafty ideas are the dye shirts & stepping stones. Her favorite store is Justice for girls so any clothing and items from there are a hit as well.

Sizes: Youth 14-16 or a junior x-small. Jeans are a size 14 and shoes size 4

Jade is 8 and is not into the typical girlie stuff.

Jade plays competitive softball also. She is a fan of the Washington Redskins and Indianapolis Colts. She is also into legos.

    Some gift ideas for Jade:
Nintendo Ds games or game boy advance games that can be played on the DS. Any Mario game is high on her wishlist and she loves pokemon games as well. She would love puzzles, lego items and movies.
Ice Age, Glee season 2 part2 and Kung Fu Panda Legend of Awesomeness are top on her movie wishlist.

Sizes: Girls size 14-16 shirts and jeans size 12. Shoes size 4.

Here is Sandi's Wishlist of coupon needs.

    She shops the following stores

Meijer, Walmart, Target, Kmart and also has a shopping mall with all the major stores.

    HCW Holiday Helping Hands Families

Our other HCW Holiday Helping Hands Families this year is Cheap-O.

Elizabeth has been a member here sine July 26, 2007. Many of our members know her as a longtime trader. In addition to that, she has modded for a few of our forums over the years.

This year her husband was laid off and she works on an on call, as needed basis which does not go very far. Unfortunately those days are not very often, so what she is able to bring in does not go very far.

Our goal as a community is to help make this Holiday season a little bit easier for Elizabeth and her hubby and put some things under the tree for their girls. As always members are welcome to shop for the kids , and we appreciate any support of the many fundraisers we will be doing on the site for the next month .

Here's some info about Elizabeth's girls:

    Julia is 12 & is a typical pre-teen girl.
She is very into reading SyFy and fantasy, art (drawing, painting, clay), Angry Birds, doing her hair and nails, roller skating, Twilight series, Vampire Diaries, music (trendy pop like Lady Gaga), plays clarinet in band.

    * noting that some gifts have been sent. please check with cheap-o or I if you wish to shop. I do not want to post which ones here just in case little kids check mama's coupon site!!

Some ideas of things Julia would love this year are listed below:
Art/craft items; roller skates *(she just won a pair YAY!); purse; wallet; jewelry (funky trendy stuff including jelly type bracelets); hair accessories; funky socks (loves mismatched fun socks! ) She loves Twilight Series; Woods items from Bath and Body Works & sugar cookie scented candles. Anything Angry birds themed, clothes, stuffed animals ect. Curling iron, hair straightener, make up (she likes ELF stuff). (Mom talking here: she can really use some clarinet reeds, Rico Brand 1 ½ or 2 for Bb clarinet),

Sizes: Jr/ladies 1 in pants/bottoms, small tops, lg in girls for sweats and Pjs, shoes 6 in ladies (Needs: Sweat pants/shirts, sweaters) She wears jean with t-shirts, basketball shorts, converse style shoes, not into a very girly clothing look.

    Josephine is 7.

She is into anything purple, cooking, Monster High, hair accessories, books, art (she likes to draw, use clay and paint ) lip gloss, science related items, fashion & anything snake related .

Some ideas of things Josephine would love this year are listed below:
Kachooz; Easy Bake Oven ; Simon (the electronic game); Monster High Doll; and any items that relate to her interests. She also has a nintendo DS, so check with cheap-o for any games she may like. Elizabeth wanted to pass on, however, that Josephine isn't into barbie stuff & doll accessories. She has them but doesn't really use them.

Sizes: 7 in girls or Medium, shoes size 13 (needs jeans/pants, zip up type sweater, panties, PJs)

Also, the girls share a bedroom and sleep in the same bed. They are in need of a comforter (queen). They are using little throw blankets right now.

Here is Elizabeth's Wishlist of coupon needs.

She shops/can shop the following stores

Fry's (kroger), Safeway, Albertsons sw division, Wag, CVS, Target, Walmart, Kmart. They are in a metro area so they have a local mall with all the usual department stores as well.

some large newspapers have a secret santa program. I know where I live, the big city paper has a toys for tots type program where they mail the gifts to the families. Also your local mall probably has some type of angel tree.

Try The Human Resource office. I was told that all the places that do Helping Hand Christmas stuff are all going threw them this year because so many are in need of help. Also because so many of the places have got reports of the same people getting help form 3 or 4 places each year (they found this to be true they said)and others get NO help at all because of lack of funds. The only thing is that they had sign ups here in the first week of Oct,which I missed.

Things keep tearing up here this year(since the end june),which has done major damage to our Christmas funds at this time...and now my van is at the shop because the radiator has to be replaced (pouring water out the past few days) thats another $439(they said it would cost more to fix than its worth) and I though the ball joints were squealing but it turns out that is is my brakes which they said would be another $150 there and about.....so what is a person to do ... I was hopeing for a cheap fix but then I get a call with this info a few minutes ago. It could be worse tho.

Consider calling your county Social Services, and asking about family adoptions. We do this annually. We have a network of churches called the county Outreach program, and this year we are adopting four families.

The give us info about each family and a list of food they would like for us to include. Because of coupons, I do a lot more. Plus a "wish list" of gifts.

I agree that because of the economy and various disasters, the need is huge.

Julia stayed the night at a friends house last night. They took her skating, she loves skating. But when they were they they were having the monthly drawing for a free pair of skates. She won! She picked out some black and red skates and should be here next week.
