My household consists of:
Heather - Me (Age: 26), Boyfriend (Age: 31), Son (Age: 5), Daughter (Age: 22 months) & Maggie our cat
I am a stay at home mom, but also run a
Facebook page reselling my kids outgrown clothes, things I find at yard sales or things I buy to resell. Because of some personal issues this is my only means of income for the time being and even with Section 8 helping with housing costs, I am barely squeezing by. We do get some food stamps, so combined with my sense of couponing and being able to live off a fairly well stocked pantry, food is actually one area we aren't hurting too bad. right now.
I have always been ashamed to ask for help, but because of the neighborhood I am currently living in, I am seeking affordable housing in a nearby city with a better job market and help for my kids.
My son is 5 years old and has been diagnosed with sensory processing disorder. He will be starting Kindergarten this year in a Special Education setting. He suffers from some fine/gross motor skills as well as some slight physical delays. He is very tall and pushing 90lbs. I have been to specialists with him as they are looking into further causes for his weight gain or a possible link to his previous diagnosis. He has been in Speech Therapy as well as OT/PT from a young age and will continue that in Kindergarten. He can be very sweet and helpful, but because of his lack of communication, he gets VERY aggressive, destructive and moody at times making it near impossible to find a daycare that can handle him.
My daughter is 22 months old and is a typical toddler. The opposite of my son, she is petite. She is very smart and witty and loves the outdoors.
Both of my kids are very much in love with the shows Barney & Yo Gabba Gabba. Those are the only shows, DVDs and toys they like to play with.
At this time, I am seeking a new apartment because the neighborhood we live in is full of drugs, alcohol & violence. I have started a moving out fund to put down as a deposit for an apartment (as this is something Section 8 does not help with). I'm estimating a deposit of around $700 and am starting a fund at home for this (but I'm only at $27 so far). No amount would be too big or too small to assist me in reaching my goal!
With my son starting Kindergarten in the fall, he can use any age appropriate school supplies. Here is a personal list I've compiled that I have to get him for back to school:
Cole's Back to School Supply Needs:
Pencils
Glue Sticks
Washable Markers
Crayons
Backpack (JCPenney had character ones with an attachable lunch box that I was looking at for him as he can be forgetful)
Boxer Briefs (only kind he will wear, he is funny about material and fit)
Sneakers
Plain White Tshirts (he has enough graphic printed for now and is good on longsleeves)
Pants*** (desperate for pants, but with his short stature and big build even husky sizes are too long on him, so he has to try them on in the store, usually end up with elastic waisted.
Some places that we could really use gifts cards for are: Old Navy, Children's Place, JCPenney, Walmart, Kmart & Target
Gas cards would be a HUGE plus as we are blessed to finally have a vehicle, we have: Tops Xpress, Sunoco & Wilson Farms
The kids current sizes and things they can use are:
Son:
Pants (in desperate need, but have to have him try these on because of his stature)
Plain White Tshirts (Boys XL)
Boxer Briefs (Size 14/16)
Sneakers (Size 3, he has chubby feet, I have only ever had luck with Skechers & DCShoes fitting him right)
Daughter:
Pajamas (2T)
Tops - short sleeve or longsleeve (2T)
Pants (18/24 months or 2T)
Undies - starting to potty train (2T/3T) *she would die for Yo Gabba Gabba undies!*
I have not had the money to buy myself a pair of shoes in the last 3 years, so sun or snow, I've been wearing flip-flops! I would LOVE a gift card for a pair of shoes (have to try them on, but I wear around a womens 11)
I am in desperate need of clothes as I've been wearing the same holey tees and same pair of Adidas pants day after day. Because of extreme weigh fluctuation over the last couple years (have went between 150lbs and 250lbs) but so I would love a gift card of any amount to get some new pants, shirts, socks, bras, undies, etc.
I haven't done much couponing in the last month trying to focus on my "business", so I'm really not sure what's out there, but some things I'm highly ISO are:
FREE Victorias Secret Panty (I could really use!!!)
FREE or high $ Pullups or Goodnights
HOT Coupons for drinks or snacks
and as for everyday coupons I'm not really sure what's out there right now.....
Actuals we are getting low on:
Razors (Mens or Womens)
Shampoo/Conditioner (I LOVE Dove or Pantene on my long hair)
Deodorant (Mens or Womens)
Everyday Medicines (Advil Liqui-gels for my migraines, Pepto-Bysmol Children's tylenol, children's pepto tabs, Nyquil, etc)
Lastly, I don't want at all to come off as greedy. I try to help people when I can even without money. I love the feeling of helping others and 5 years ago, I would be the helping and hope to have the financial means to do so in the future. So even if you can't help, I appreciate you taking the time to read my story about my family and I wish the best for you and yours!
With all thanks and sincerity,
Heather
