HHH - Alana's Angels - Helping Children with Leukemia

First off, I would like to thank everyone at HCW for teaching me the valuable lessons that have helped me save money and provide for my family.

I wanted to talk to you a little about a non-profit that myself and two friends founded. We met a little girl named Alana Sanchez when she was 18 months old. She was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) at the age of 9 months. Unfortunately, Alana gained her Angel wings at the young age of 20 months. She became an inspiration to us, so much so, that we created a non-profit in her name. We provide support, financial and emotional, to families whose children have been diagnosed with Leukemia and other childhood cancers. Leukemia is different than other cancers in that these children have to have chemo after they are "cancer free".

Most of these parents had to quit working so that they could stay with their children in the hospital when they go in for chemo treatments. In doing so, these parents are financially struggling.

After learning a lot on HCW, I have come to find out that I can help provide necessities to families by couponing. We are very interested in laundry soap q's, paper towels, toilet paper and pretty much anything that people can use on a daily basis. Alana's Angels will provide the goods for the families, but we are also on a budget and rely solely on donations. That is why I would love to take what lessons I have learned here and be able to provide for these families.
