I live in middle TN (DeKalb County) & was blessed that the storms bypassed my family & I. I have family just outside of Manchester, TN who have found pictures and an old check from some of the storm victims. My sister sent me a link to a site on Facebook to post pics of items found, so I'm going to try to post them for them since they do not have Facebook. I think it's wonderful that members on this site are so caring and willing to offer some of what you have to others who may need it more. I was thinking of having a yard sale later this year, but now I think I may donate some of the items to those in need. Thanks to those who are willing to organize as well because that's a big job. Our prayers are with our fellow patriots who are in need.

Hey Nathan (of TLC's Exteme Couponing), here's your chance to reclaim your "toothpaste room"! 1,000 tubes of toothpaste, along with whatever other mass stockpiled items you'll never get around to using in your lifetime, will go a long way in helping out people in the South who could use your excess stockpile now.

If you art still interested in helping.... (this is off the local news site)

The best way to help tornado survivors and rescue workers is to make a financial contribution. Monetary donations allow disaster responders to immediately meet the specific needs of disaster survivors. The Salvation Army asks those who want to help to visit www.disaster.salvationarmyusa.org or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769) and designate their gift "April 2011 Tornado Outbreak." Checks may be made out to:
    The Salvation Army Disaster Relief
    P.O. Box 100339
    Atlanta, GA 30384-0339
For more information please call: Kimberly George at 423-503-1801. Also visit us on Facebook or Twitter as well.

Last week community organizations, churches, business leaders, and non-profits gathered to form Catoosa Organization Acting in Disaster (COAD).
The initial objective is to gather the resources needed to assist uninsured and underinsured homeowners as they rebuild from the tornado devastation.
COAD will coordinate the rebuild effort through an office at Ringgold United Methodist Church.
To make tax-deductible donations to the effort of cash: Catoosa Organization Acting in Disaster (COAD), P.O. Box 53, Ringgold, Ga. 30736 or visit www.HelpRinggold.com for more information.
To get on the volunteer list for the clean up or the future rebuild efforts or to ask for information about COAD, call (706) 935-2109.

Message off the facebook of my friend in Joplin today whose house was effected by the tornado but is still standing located 3 houses north of where homes are down to foundation and the highschool which was demolished, is they have no food, no water, no power, no phone, no gas, credit cards and debit cards don't work, and they need cash. They are running out of cash and she only has 1/2 gallon of gas in her car. She is staying at a friend's south of town and returning everyday to her home to clean up. I have a van and if I could fill it with 5 gallon bottles of water, a propane stove, propane, and ready made or easy to prepare foods, maybe I could get some supplies together.Cooler full of food on ice, like an extreme cooler. I have a stockpile, but mostly not appropriate items mostly pantry items, not ready made foods. Toothpaste is covered. Three hours ago was her fb messae plea for help there. We are a two hour drive away. I wonder if any other couponers from the Kansas City area want to help fill a van with supplies?

I want to send cash directly to my friend and I'm finding out the best way. They can't access paypal, debit or credit cards because of the phone lines.
