Diane...You & your family are in my thoughts and prayers. :::::Hugs:::::
I am all too familiar with having a child in the hospital, standing vigil and the stresses it brings. As hard as it is, you must take a few moments to yourself every few hours because you will be no good to him if you burnout!
I will be sending a PM, for when you get a moment.

I wated to update everyone and let you know that Seth has been sent home! Yay! We are going home on a clear liquid/low fat diet for 2 weeks as well as pain and nausea medications. They will have a home health burse coming in for the next 2 weeks to keep a check on him as well. Thank you so very much for all of your thoughts, prayers and kindness during this time. It has been very much appreciated by our family. Thank you.

So glad that you both are home. I am glad home health is going to keep a check on Seth, is this his first episode? The diet is so restrictive, I can't imagine an 8 yr old sticking to it.

    God bless,

    God bless,
This is actually the second time he's had it. He hates the diet and we have some wiggle room as long as everything he eats is nonfat or very low fat. They would prefer him to eat something with sugar if he has to have it rather than fat. Fats take the longest and are the hardest things to digest. Because of the phychiatric issues he has as well as his autism, a full liquid diet isn't possible for the full two weeks. That's another reason home health is coming in so they can take blood and monitor his lipase levels. We hope this finally resolves itself very soon.
