Re: Support the HHH's goals to help Kimmeebee, a member in need.... Thanks to everyone here. I am blown away by the support that has come out of the woodwork. It bouys our spirits just to know you are thinking of her. And whoever said posting on our caringbridge site is a big help is absolutely right. It's worth its weight in gold because I can read those from my phone at the hospital when we are bored, scared or upset.
I hope Kim doesn't mind me responding to this post, but I do know that Emma cannot have any gifts of stuffed animals/toys because of germs. But we were discussing on another Mom's board that Kim and I are members of about small "token" gifts to be used when Emma has to take shots at home, or meds, etc. The list of items we have posted on that board are:
~Grease Pencils- for labeling food packages, cups etc with the time- her things cannot sit out for more than an hour at a time.
~shirt/shorts style PJs size 3T-4T <Noggin or Disney characters suggested. This will help cover her central line
~croc-style shoes for Emma size 8 < any color, already has bright pink>
~ Small toys, books, games. < Used for bribes during meds as well as distracting her at hospital. Sets with small pieces are great.>
~Disinfectant wipes <tubs and travel size>
~Socks- toddler shoe size 8- she must keep her feet covered at all times
| Diane, thanks for posting that. I do have a few changes:
Someone sent us a lifetime supply of grease pencils. LOL We are totally hooked up on that one. We use them to write the time on her food/sippy cups so we know to throw them away after an hour.
She got uber chunky lately, so 4T - 5T will fit better. She can always wear the 3T when she loses weight once she comes off the steroids.
She has plenty of size 8 crocs, so size 9 or 10 for later use would be fabulous.
We also have received a lifetime supply of socks!! We should be OK on those for a while.
I do look forward to the day when I can coupon again. It's just tough right now. But I appreciate any that y'all would like to send. I can give them to my sister - she's the coupon queen - and she will pick up the deals for me.
Other than those specific things, I don't believe in telling people how to do a favor. I appreciate anything you are able to do - even if it's just offering up a kind word here and there. Whatever is done will definitely be utilized and appreciated! I would like to request that if you send something, make sure I have your addy because I really like sending thank you notes. It's a 'thing' of mine - I can't rest until everyone is properly thanked! And it gives me something to do... |
